RE: No exclusive agreement with Medusa19?14 Feb 2021 13:48
Sorry all, thanks bandyace, jumped the gun here! It does appear though, as other posters have previously mentioned, that this distribution agreement is only for the Saliva tests.
No exclusive agreement with Medusa19?14 Feb 2021 13:34
I've been doing a little searching, and have noticed that when the Medusa19 website was updated on the 27th October, they dropped the "exclusive" wording in regards the distribution of Avacta's rapid antigen test..
Old wording: "Medusa 19 has entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with Avacta Group plc, the developer of Affimer® biotherapeutics and reagents, for its COVID-19 rapid antigen test that is currently under development..." Rather odd that they would only remove the words exclusive and saliva. Would be great if we were able to more freely distribute the tests!
As frustrated as we all are (myself included), it's idiotic to suggest AS is not trying to produce this test in a timely manner. These processes usually take far longer and we have clearly been hit with unexpected delays which have been out of Avacta's control (Cytiva issues, Falcon-Study etc). We were given a great update on the 8th and are expecting a TU and s/s results this month. Have patients
RE: Why were off to Europe to get validated9 Feb 2021 21:46
You wouldn't have thought it would be so "grassroots" in it's approach to recruiting patients, very glad we're now over in Europe getting this validation done.
My mother (of all people) was just talking to a close family friend who is quite lonely at the moment due to lockdown etc.
She perked up during the conversation and told my mother that a doctor friend of hers is quite excited at the possible upcoming release of a “spit test” that you will be able to pick up in a pharmacist for £5. She’s a well connected individual which has me interested.
I’m going to give her a call and see if I can find out any additional details and will update accordingly.
Does this sound like us/ could this be anyone else..?
If we’re going down that road, may also be worth noting that the BA vouchers, being offered to passengers (like myself) who have had to cancel trips, expire on the 30th April... perhaps they foresee travel being more readily available very soon..?
