When the RNS about the spat between essar and shorecan came out I think the argument was about the strength of the case and how it could delay or even destroy the chances of finally getting the drill bit turning.
pijoe says and I have no reason to disbelieve him that he is an expert on change of ownership of Nigerian assets.
Nobody AFAIK was shouting that this signalled a placing although that had been voiced many times before by many people.
It was the reason for this sudden disclosure and how relevant was it to the success of the project that was up for discussion.
Of course it was blindingly obvious that it was disclosed in order that the placing prospectus could pass legal muster. But that was the next day.....oh the benefit of hindsight !
I hope now that all the grubby little people have got sufficient slices of the action at " mates rates " and we can see some real progress.
Arthur gave us a month in his first podcast on 01 August. So let's be generous and give him four weeks from now to come up with something tangible and retrieve some credibility that he seems determined to destroy.

Of course he brought up the subject of that old chestnut Afren whose demise was brought about by seriously corrupt management. But then states " this is no Afren MK2".....which we new all along.<br />This agreement with Essar is transparent for all those who understand legalise ( which doesn't include me ) and has always been in the public domain.....so no surprises there.<br />I think the spectre of a dispute has been known by the major players and potential fund providers and Arthur has now brought it out in the open to clear the air and some might say play the brinkmanship game. He wants it sorted ASAP. If essar insist on cutting up rough then they shoot themselves in the foot.<br />All the hypothetical reasons start to come out of the woodwork and this then becomes a target for deramping and possible shorting.<br />I think it will be resolved quickly.....Just my opinion.<br />AST released a doomsday RNS last week.....SP drops to .3p.<br />Two days later everything OK RNS....... I never implied there was any corruption at shorecan.....I was only referring to Afren.
Essar were happy enough to make the deal and be paid out of future revenues but now seem to be throwing their toys out of the pram at a critical stage and you have to ask why?

This is just a company trying to be greedy and spoil the party....although if they are bloody minded enough could succeed in doing so.....although they would be shooting themselves in the foot at the same time.

Afren is often quoted as an example of " beware of nigeria "
You have to look at the reasons for Afren's demise and that was quite simply a corrupt management.
So no surprise it is talking so long through the courts

They'd backed themselves into a corner and took what they thought was a good deal.
Now after all the efforts of shorecan to rebuild bridges they had burnt and being close to the end game they have decided to cut up rough and try and railroad the agreement......because they're greedy.
I doubt they have too many friends amongst the Nigerian Authorities and how does that saying go?

Essar have already upset NNPC and the Nigerian Authorities and this latest threat is posturing to gain more out of the deal.
If they they have any sense they will shut the fc_uk up, take a free ride and not be greedy!

I have thought for some time how good it would be to kick Essar well and truly into touch although they can clearly see the potential here for money for nothing and so it has become more unlikely as time has gone on.

I do know two of the named academics associated with it although their contribution would have been on only one area of the device.
I have no involvement with the project myself and merely used it as an example of the kind of technology that would truly " wow the market " ( if it works ). For everyone else's benefit it is not meant to be continuous but truly non -invasive....that's the deal.
It is not " another finger " but is supposed to measure the absorption in the flesh between the thumb and forefinger. It's also being developed by a private company with their own funds and not an AIM listed boiler room scam outfit.
