I am no fan of winny froth or his website but he did call out CTAG 100% for exactly the corrupt scam it was.
I don't know ( or care ) about SYME but from what is being said I would say extreme caution and some basic research would be wise.

Cathy is a PR buffer and words like 'expecting' and 'hoping' figure large in the platitudes she puts out.
The world and his dog have been expecting and hoping for a while now.
Even if Arthur knew exactly when the PSC extension was going to drop for sure there's now way he'd tell PR. He wants it done and then he'll tell all the world himself.
The fact is, it's in everyone's interest for this to happen and the delay could be down to all the reasons already discussed and more.

Brown envelopes
Numbered Bank accounts
etc etc........ ad nauseum.
COPL have no immediate liquidity issues and the PSC externsion will be here within a month and as much as anyone would like to think they know something, everyone will know as soon as the company has confirmation and there will be an RNS " Newsfest ".

So that's all over now and we've got the RNS we could have had a month ago but without all the drama.
Arthur wanting to spin it out of course caused justified speculation that there would be further announcement's regarding other projects.
The marginal field license bidding was for indigenous participation only and so it would have been Shoreline's responsibility.
As such it would not be necessary to include anything in COPL's Financials and MD&A.
It would have been good to announce either or both of any new deals with the JV Shorecan or the PSC extension at the same time but not a legal necessity in respect of the quarterly financial statement.
Just my guess but I think NNPC/DPR want the assurances from Essar on timelines for drilling and you certainly could not blame them after the last two years of stalling any progress, in fact the original plan was to be drilling this Q4 2017.
Even if the PSC is not extended by 30th September it's unlikely that the license would be revoked and you can be sure Essar would do everything to hang on to it and remember they have billions of $$$$$.
Relax and wait for news now is all we can do although I would imagine Arthur is up to some deal making somewhere in the meantime.

The interim financial statement and MD & A has to be released by 28th September.
The last RNS said it would be released on the 14th ( Monday )
We all speculated and probably correctly that it would include the PSC extension and possibly news of other projects.
If another delay is announced on Monday then it goes to the 28th.
If the company just wanted to release an interim Statement and MD & A they could probably just C&P the last one with a few changes.
The SP drop is probably anticipating another delay and the short term traders and the nervous are exiting, albeit temporarily.
I think that another delay is priced in right now and really makes no difference if you're in for the prize.
This company has never been so close to a game changing announcement like this and minor blips like a delay in a self imposed deadline are going to be meaningless in the scheme of things.

Hi Bolton...................I'm not too worried about the PSC as all the indicators would say it's nailed on.
Arthur setting unnecessary self imposed deadlines and breaking them is really the issue.
It may well go down to the wire now for all the reasons that have been discussed but there is so much in this for the mutual benefit of all parties that it goes against all logic for it not to succeed.

The 50 - 100m Mcap is a number I have often thought about right if we have the PSC extended and everyone singing the same tune.
With rig mobilisation and a formal drill plan announced then circa 150m.
If we get news on other projects like Moz or possibly another Shorecan venture with the recently announced marginal field licenses or even another project out of left field then who knows ?
The PSC expires at the end of the month and the last time I looked, September had 30 days and so 30-09-2020 is the deadline.
This must be concentrating Essar's mind as they have the most to lose if the contract license is not extended. At the same time it's not in the interests of NNPC to block it as it would then no doubt get messy with litigation and send out the wrong message to foreign investors.
It's puzzling why it's taking this long and the way Arthur has kept setting himself deadlines that he's not sure he can meet shows we are not the only ones surprised by the time it's taking.
I can only guess that NNPC want cast iron assurances, written in stone that there will be progress on this project......to mix metaphors.
The only other reason I can think of is the normally slow Nigerian bureaucratic process has now stalled or been reduced to an even slower crawl.
It's in everyone's interest for this to succeed but it may go down to the wire.

Donald says " there's no PSC ".......Actually there is and it expires on the 30th of this month.
We are requesting an extension of the current PSC and not unreasonably, NNPC will want to attach provisos to ensure that Essar intend to get on with the drilling program now and not string things out again with disputes.
I think this is the reason it's taking time and it's as simple as that.
When the new extended PSC arrives it will come right out of left field and the SP will just gap straight up leaving Donald and his chums high and dry.

This stock has ten bagged from a couple of moths ago.
The news from the RNS clearly hasn't sunk in yet as to the transformation we have with Essar now a co-operative JV partner and the free carry to first drill and 90 day buy in option.....risk free.
I thought it would have spiked higher but as usual the rainbow chasers bought in, panicked and sold out at a loss......classic.
Relax and await the next news.

You may be right oilbeast but Tower (TRP) are scratching around for funding right now and although Asher will no doubt do his best I'm not too impressed with the prospect.
If they (TRP) announced funding and a rig mobilisation their SP would rocket..........but I wouldn't hold your breath.
Good luck to them anyway and the fact that these rigs are earmarked for West Africa is encouraging for us. Could be it's the real deal for COPL.

Whilst it is true that HBOS was an atrocious and I believe corrupt mistake that did indeed " fc_uk" a perfectly good bank.......that was 2008.
The current drop is down to the current situation and you only have to look around at the other banks to realise that.
Lloyds is a great recovery stock but the entry price is down to the individual and I can't see any good news in the short to medium term. Just my take.

Absolutely......totally agree. I think you must have misread the meaning. HBOS was a basket case that crippled Lloyds due to a deal between Blank and Daniels and the UK Government in the shape of Gordon Brown.
They may have thought they could have cornered the retail market but due diligence was never done and they exited with a fat pension pot and who knows what else.

I think you'll find that the takeover of HBOS was a cosy deal between Gordon Brown and Blank and Daniels.
HBOS was a basket case and if it had collapsed, the rest of the banking system would have gone with it.
Ironic that people thought it was still a building society and was as " safe as houses ".
