Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
I think you might just be at tad optimistic! Having read the RNS the forecast for 2014 and the start of 2015 is not good. Once again we are given out information in a poorly presented way, what cuts are they looking for? Why have these cuts not already been actioned and actioned much earlier. I expect this drip, drip of cuts in Local Authorities but not in a PLC. The CEO here should be looking to run this company at it's most efficient all of the year, not just have a panic when the accountant comes in with some new figures. My confidence was already at a low point with this BOD, I didn't realise that it could go lower still!
I agree, I suspect that Brian was reacting to the downward pressure on the SP and hopefully the comments on this BB. If so it does demonstrate that he is watching and cares about what is said about PCI. The RNS was a disaster and certainly appeared to be knocked off in haste. Let us hope that the test results are what we would like to see, if not then this SP will see lows that we have not experienced before! Good luck all.
Brilliant rant, your talents are severely wasted here, the BBC is in dire need of you!
Well that RNS went down well didn't it. A shame that there was not more information about why the drop in daily production this year and the full listing position. Nothing is going to happen here until the black stuff is found in Kurdistan, also it appears that production in Algeria is slipping back a little, none of this is helping the SP at the moment. What are others views on the current state of affairs here?
Thanks for the link. Frankly having read the link I think the BOD should all take a bit of a jump and get someone in command that knows what they are doing. I do wonder how these directors can so take their eye off the ball that they continue to issue shareholders with nasty surprises. It destroys ones faith in their abilities and in their character.
Good post, let us hope that they can encourage a few of their clients to buy a stake in PCI!
Well spotted, I do wonder at times what smart arse accountant suggests to the board one day "oh, I have a good idea we can massage our figures and put those client discounts into next year when we pay them". I know we always looked at our own company figures and included any relevant "trade" in that accounting period. How can it be correct to show a "trade" that goes into the next accounting year when it was directly connected to the current year?
Very well spotted about the rig returning to base, thank you! Can you let us know when it departs as we obviously cannot rely on RNS to keep us up to date!
Thanks for that information, let us hope that the Egyptians are good for their word. The income will do the end of year figures in April a nice boost !
The thing that I have noticed about the sp recently is the way that the spread opens and closes, as I write this it is showing 4p, a huge spread. Anyone knows how this works, there must be open competition in the MMs field, or perhaps they all meet at the local greasy spoon?
Thanks for that information, out of interest are the Egyptians paying any interest on their debt to PCI?
Out of interest does anyone know the following: 1. How much do the Egyptians owe PCI? 2. I assume that the pay out will be equal across all debtors as a percentage of debt? 3. When will the balance of debt be repaid by the Egyptians?
What is the view out there of this amendment? Is it better to have 2 million now or half now with some shares and a bit more later. I would hope and trust the BOD to know the true value of the disposal and that this is the right move for us?
Sorry meant to say to work on the earliest date shown. I have emailed Pan African and will let you know their reply. I have to say I cannot find the results on their web site of the AGM which was supposed to be on 22nd November if I am correct.
Thanks Salz for those comments, they are reassuring as you echo my own view on the price of gold. I have to say that I would certainly like to see a price in the upper .20's if the Chinese were to try to make a grab other wise I feel they would be getting it on the cheap. But then I would have a bit of a biased view on this!
Well, no sooner than I ask the question and a broker pops his head above the parapet. WH Ireland have a current £0.60 pps and "outperform". However, the same broker had £1.30 and "outperform" in March of this year, I wonder what their explanation to all the punters who bought then on their recommendation is?
