I understand your point, however this is a common stance for those execs that have their own bird. JCB family own all of their planes, two helos, at least one fixed wing and these are charged to the company at a rate that virtually allows them no cost usage for personal flights. Whatever perk the exec has it will be massaged in a way that is beneficial for themselves and for the tax payment. If the use of the helicopter allows them more efficient control of the company then I do not have a problem with it, this answer though would be very difficult to prove or disprove.
I understand the paragraph, however, I feel that the SP has suffered unnecessarily and has been oversold. After all the company is cash generative and the gold price has rallied a bit. The only problem that nobody has control over is the SA Currency.
Having been in Asia for 3 weeks I have returned to find the good news regarding the second farm out is signed off but also to find that the sp has dropped, why?
If that is true re Shakrok, when that news officially gets broadcast it should do the sp some good movement north. We could sure do some with this current market correction. I bet some big folk out there have been busy bottom fishing this morning, good luck all!
I was getting all excited there for a minute thinking I was going to learn another gem from your huge knowledge source and then got to the last line!
Why have we suddenly gone to a 3.71% spread, a massive 6.5p?
A good point you have raised, "why didn't the BOD inform us of this contract", answer, I don't think they know what they are doing. The management of this company seems to be on a similar basis to our local fire brigade, a fire starts and they try to extinguish. The big difference is our local fire brigade never let us down or fail in their mission.
Yes, good to see you back again. The gas is still there [Algeria] and PCI is now getting to grips with the engineering planning and contracts to extract the stuff and link up to the existing pipeline. I think it is now going to be later in 2017 when the gas starts to flow. Have a look at PCI's web site and all the information is there. Sadly your old price of 20p now equates to £5.00 with the share consolidation. With the drilling in Kurdy underway there could be some exciting stuff in the next month. But as always DYOR, good luck.
I have to say you are right, I have always believed that there are a few unholy alliances between brokers and MMs, and us guys [who after all own the business] are left to duck and dive amongst the shrapnel bursting around our heads!
I see that the brokers [as shown on Hargreaves Lansdown website] copied below are still unimpressed with PCI achievements or potential sp. Only Canaccord has raised its target price, but that rise is less than their previous note. January 2014 Canaccord Genuity 15/01 Reiterates Buy was 250.00p now 235.00p Goodbody 13/01Reiterates Buy was 325.00p now 325.00p Liberum Capital 09/01 Downgrades Buy was 218.00p now 189.00p Do these guys need to turn the light on or are the rest of us looking through the glass the wrong way?
Well a bit like the "Parsons nose", good in parts! At least the debt is now significantly reduced just sad that it took so long to negotiate this down. Hopefully that means that STOB got a good deal, any other ideas anyone?
What a dog of a share this one is, I have lost so much the rest is not worth throwing away. Fortunately I only nibbled at this from the start. Having gone into A&E this share has now visited intensive recovery and has been declared a failure at that! I sincerely hope that WH Ireland are right, however I wonder how long we have to wait for any movement in a northerly direction?
Well spotted. I think this shows that things are settling down in Stobart's market place if they have the confidence to invest in a fleet of new trucks. Lets hope this is the case. Like others here I feel that Southend will come up trumps, if they don't invest in these different [but associated] operational areas they will never offer anything different. As you say a cracking dividend and overall a well run business.
When do we hope to hear any news on this?
Once again we appear to have more sellers than buyers but have a nice almost 3% rise, is it me?
Over the last 12 months the price for gold has dropped from $1700 to around $1250. I noticed some comments on IC Trader this morning that they believe the rate is under pressure and will drop again. This assumption comes as they feel that more investors will sell gold to buy equities as the trend is for the world indices to continue to rise for the next couple of months. Or until the next political tornado breaks around our heads. What is the feeling amongst you experts out there as to the effect of this potential drop in gold price against the sp?
Let us hope so, especially followed up by some good news from the drilling!
Looking at the share trades for PCI, why as there are so many buys [including the huge one earlier] and so few sales has the price not ticked up? Once again are the mm's playing silly b's?
