And most promisingly, the West Yorkshire business announced it had won a second mid-volume project on a vehicle for the hybrid market, a huge step in its progression into the mid-volume area. I reckon Carclo could prove a spectacular growth pick in the coming years, particularly as global vehicle build rates continue to soar."

These improvements were largely driven by the performance of the engineering services business, which accounts for 80 per cent of group revenue. Revenue here was up 6 per cent to £234m, while the order book increased 5 per cent to £435m. The division also expanded margins by 40 basis points to 5.1 per cent. One notable contributor to the division's performance was the environmental business, which saw benefits from the ramping up of the AMP6 regulatory period. The group has taken a non-cash impairment charge of £5.8m following disappointing performance from the gas business. At the end of April 2017 it decided to withdraw from loss-making low pressure, small diameter pipe replacement activities to focus on medium pressure, which it says are "lower revenue but...consistently profitable". Chief executive Paul Scott said the group would remain acquisitive, but had "fine tuned the search criteria" as a result. The recent acquisition of engineering company Giffen has resulted in a net debt position, but the group is expecting to be cash positive by the end of the financial year. Analysts at WH Ireland are forecasting profit before tax of £24.9m, giving EPS of 31.7p for the September year-end (from £22.3m and 27.2 in 2016). IC VIEW: Renew continues to impress with strengthening underlying metrics. Trading at a little under 15 times forecast earnings, it is a touch cheaper than it was when we tipped it. Positive stuff from SND's interims this morning re their Logistics division (incorporating Proteus, who are partnered with TST) gaining new clients and increasing revenues nicely: "Enterprise - Wholesale Distribution and Logistics The Group has expanded the application of Sanderson solutions for the wholesale distribution, cash and carry and fulfilment sectors into the specialist warehousing, logistics and supply chain market sectors. Four new customers were gained during the period, including H B Clark & Co and Andertons Music Company. This compares with five new customers in the comparative period of 2016. Large orders from existing customers included Tottenham Hotspur and Clipper Logistics plc. Revenue increased by 15% to £4.21 million (2016: £3.66 million)."

SCH looks like the safest/best play in its sector at present given: (1) Worldpay's downgrade to a Sell yesterday by analysts citing unimpressive fundamentals, struggles in the USA and customer migration to a new platform, and (2) Paysafe is coping with shorter attacks/criticism over its activities in China and Turkey.

Only 2 weeks to wait to results, which should show that DKL are on course for a derisory P/E of only around 7.3 based upon Cantor's forecast of 1.94p EPS for this year (2017) - plus the dividend of course.

I bought some of these on the dip today after a few traders exited post-results. Hardman have now increased their forecast to 20.1p EPS this year. They're not normally ones to over-egg things (though there's always the exception!). Above all, CMH is obviously a company on the up. Good to see the other two subsidiaries doing well too, but the core turbocharging division is only going to get better and better, especially given the favourable regulatory environment supporting its growth. And the pound's weakness will also help drive sales and further enquiries in making CMH's products that much cheaper to its prospective customers.

and looking good online - you can only buy a maximum 100k at 17.75p, whilst you can sell 250k at 17.29p.

Online remains encouraging. Earlier I could only buy a maximum 150 shares at near the full offer price, whilst I can sell 2,000 at 651.51p. The results are out this Thursday.

Finncap have reiterated their Buy and 586p target, saying as follows: "Renew has reported a strong set of H1 results with sales up +9%, operating profit up 15% and EPS up 16%. Operating margins have improved from 4.0% to 4.2% and the group is on target for 4.5% for the year. Expected revenue for H2 is fully secured and a move into net cash is anticipated by the end of the financial year. We make no changes to our forecasts and reiterate our view that Renew’s strong track record of delivering essential services on large, long-term frameworks can command a higher rating." And importantly imo: "The group focuses on directly delivering essential works to critical infrastructure which are mainly funded through clients’ operational expenditure budgets."

Very encouraging... - a "strong" start to the year - loads of new contract wins, including a biggie re Xcaret's 7 attractions in Mexico, which are hugely popular (I've been to one of them myself!) and others like CNN and the NFL experience - the global Merlin rollout is going well - the Ingresso acquisition looks good And importantly: "We have also completed our first accesso LoQueuesm installation featuring our accesso Prism technology and expect the system to go-live imminently." I think we all know what this refers to! We should expect a big RNS in the next week or so imo.....

A very good set of results, and a confident outlook statement. With expected revenues for H2 in the bag, order books nice and solid, and prospects good in nuclear, rail, water, telecoms etc there's every reason to feel optimistic looking forward. With net cash expected in H2 we can likely expect an earnings-enhancing acquisition or two as well. The gas write-off isn't a surprise given its prior travails, and will mean the remaining business will be profitable. With 15.5p EPS in H1 being almost exactly half the consensus for the year there's a reasonable chance that those forecasts will be beaten.
