Sad for most holders. Just hoping Chris Oil didn’t get tipped the wink in advance. He must be down to the buttons and crumbs in his mummy’s piggy bank by now.
Some chunky trades going through this morning.
Bit odd... Back to normal now though :o(
That’s a PI top up, some 10 times that of CH’s - says a lot really... GLA
Before anyone says anything I know we’ve had info on some of them already... I mean the additional ones Orm refers to in his entry.
This is fantastic news for all concerned. Would be interested to get more info on the side effects. Fingers crossed none of them are too serious.
An RNS with dancing girl emojis at the top would be brilliant!
No win no fee cases were principally designed for people / companies in dire straits - hence why the fees are based on a percentage of the prospective “winnings”. AST are in a corner so can’t afford a standard legal approach (without raising additional funds) so a no win no fee would work for them. Likewise a no win no fee firm would be likely to take it on only if they were to think the case is strong enough, and the potential return fair to decent, and better than a standard fee, in terms of what they would earn with their ultimate cut. So it could well happen.
Interesting to note in the Angus RNS re: the flow of water at Balcombe. Given that ANGS suspect the recovered water is brine, it sounds like all of the Kimmeridge layers tested to date across several areas of the Weald are producing far less water than previous analyses/estimates suggested was held in the oil-rich rock matrix... So where is all of that water? Given its apparent limited quantity (or even absence) in testing so far, is it possible that the percentages of oil held in the rocks have been underestimated to date?
Surely UKOG can’t be on to the co-mingled rest yet if they haven’t released any further updates on flow rates for KL4 since the last RNS on the 15/11 detailing the KL3 rates, and explaining there would be a final pressure build-up of that layer before they moved on to the testing of KL4. I thought they had stated that progress updates would be released throughout each drill (as per the Portland and KL3). Also if the plan is to continue the EWT well into 2019 surely they will not be rushing. And finally, i can’t see how they would be at the combined test phase already, as how could they realistically justify a further 6-9 months of additional tests from that point. Thoughts?
Cheers, Bladehater. That makes sense.
Need to see if I can get a bit more info on the planning application, but from the diagram on DoD it seems to suggest that UKOG might also be going for the Corallian layer from HH1 (though I’m not clear why the extension is in white not red). I remember DL saying around the original time of drilling that he’d like to have tested that layer. Thoughts?
No one likes a falling share price or a lack of concrete news, but perhaps the radio silence is part of SS’s long game (and likewise Vonks’s). Put it this way as things stand both UKOG and ANGS can still pick up additional Weald Basin acreage for a song while the commercial viability of the region is still a matter of debate. Once KL4 is flowing and Angus have got a result from the Kimmeridge layers next door the cat will effectively be out of the bag and both companies would then be paying a premium. You could also argue that SS has played down some of the HH flow rates and kept things a little vague (all within the rules of course) for a similar reason. I wouldn’t be surprised if one/both companies were to announce additional purchases between now and CPR/official confirmation of commerciality... But either way the science will prevail in time. Just wish I had a bit of spare cash to buy some more shares at these January sale prices. GLA and enjoy your Chrimbles. RB
That’s like saying someone would intentionally buy a share to sell it on at the same price in the future. Ridiculous argument!

The only thing that has been analized is AST’s loyal and long-suffering PIs...
And you really are getting fking desperate now if you’re using Brexit as a deramping tool.
The average figure struck me as odd too... but I do believe they might make it sound like a lesser amount if they have their eye on more acreage. Once the cat is out of the bag it’s out of the bag.
And which report does “today’s report” refer to? From memory they are quoting from both the report today and the other recent one and mixing them up. The Environment Agency again doesn’t seem to stipulate which party is the unnamed foreigners. Weird.
Reading that article over I’m left wondering if the journalists are filling in the gaps with soundbites and rattled sabres from groups of people not linked to or affiliated with JL. The key ambiguity is over the reference to “foreigners” - I.e. does that refer to Sophie H for “lobbying” (and/or AST and shareholders) or a different group with their own interests, or possibly both of those? The article doesn’t clarify that point but instead gets the opinion of people with their own vested interests who may well have interpreted what has been said to their advantage. The writers also dont appear to have tried to make contact with JL or Sophie Honey; likewise they also haven’t seen fit to get Colin to offer his own comment or opinion but have instead quoted his Twitter feed. Lazy journalist or an intentional attempt to skew the facts? I can’t call it myself. Guess we’ll find out in due course.
