Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
About the current share price is either looking to sell in the short term or needs to calm down a bit, step back and look at the bigger picture and the longer-term plan. SS has stated many time that the company is on the lookout to consolidate and extend its grip on the Weald basin. He’s doing that now while the acreage is still cheap and he’s buying it for pennies. I am convinced all will come good but we need to be patient and let him execute the strategy
Confirmed :-)
Sounds like a bit of a shaggy dog story - which I genuinely hope it is... Probably needs to realise that his family won’t get anything from his life insurance if he tops himself too.
Lolz... Saying “Some procedures at the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning (MESP) could run faster” is like saying Fred West had a dysfunctional family
Transparent as it is I’d be concerned that RNSing a timetable with such specific dates will play into the hands of shorters and day-traders? Also leaves the door open to BOD criticism if the slightest thing goes wrong and delays the hitting of each milestone?
Pretty relaxed that we're still a little under the radar at present. Value will out in the end, so it's only a concern if your time-frame for return-on-investment is very short term, or if SAR decide they need another fund-raise. Otherwise, I'm more than happy to sit and wait. I've been waiting more than a decade, so I can wait another couple of years if it comes to it.
Really great news for Deborah James and wondered if it might be that her new treatment was the CHK1 trial but from what I’ve managed to read I don’t think it is. https://mobile.twitter.com/bowelbabe/status/1085550601239478272
Sorry, Cyan. I had initially presumed it would most likely be another Weald licence we aren't involved in (i.e. "new" in that sense). And if it's not a Weald asset, from a strategic perspective, I would suspect close to home in a region with similar geology – so somewhere UKOG can use its current knowledge of the Kimmeridge formation. The repetition of "elsewhere" in similar RNSes does suggest SS is dropping a big hint, so you may well be right.
Yes I do. Do you not?
I'm not disagreeing with that point, but you're both also not responding directly to what I've said. What I'm saying is that the positive CPR will lead to an increase in value of other Weald licences (hence why it makes more sense for SS to buy them now before the CPR is out). If you believe that the other licences will remain the same value after the CPR then I'm happy to agree to disagree.
Penguins... You could start an argument in an empty room couldn't you? I understand what you're saying and agree that you can't assume the same characteristics for every well across the whole region, but are you seriously telling me that when the CPR results are out, the other Weald licences will still be the same value as they are now? The updated CPR for HH plus evidence that the Weald basin is a continuous field (albeit with potential location-specific issues) will absolutely have an influence on the value of other Weald licences – just as a duster at one location in the Weald would. I think that's pretty obvious isn't it? And there would be no real logic to SS buying up additional acreage now if he could wait six months and get it for the same price and pay for it with fewer shares or a bank loan.
Disagree... If the CPR is as good as expected based on what we’ve heard to date and the Kimmeridge is effectively one large oilfield, then once released any licence in the Weald basin with corresponding geology will go up in price, regardless of whether or not it’s been tested. How much it will go up by is the million dollar question. But my thinking is that SS is keeping his cards close to his chest and buying up what he can on the cheap - especially to consolidate existing licences - before the cat is out of the bag. The increase in shares in issue is an obvious short-term headache, but if it means that UKOG end up with a greater share of HH (for example) then long term it’s a very positive move. I’d be less keen to see them buy into another licence unless it’s a controlling stake but it’s a case of wait and see now...
Wish I could raise £3.50 to “go shopping” but it’s all locked up in UKOG’s coffers.
Amazing. One of the most unambiguous mission statements I’ve seen for a while. And not extraterrestrial but couldn’t resist going for UFO... Mysteron I’m so glad you shared this :-)
From the FT: ‘Last week, the new boss of Arian Silver announced that the junior market company would be called Alien Metals. There is no plan to mine on Mars, the group’s executive chairman, Dennis Edmonds, hastily said. Alien refers to “other” or “unknown”, not extraterrestrial extraction, he said. Still, the rebranding exposes the adventurous spirit behind the company. “The new name doesn’t say what we do. One reason is we don’t know what we will do,” said Mr Edmonds, a South Africa-trained lawyer who was brought in by investors in May to pare the group down and make something of it.’
*I will be shaking out the piggy bank for some UFO ACTION next week
Hahaha - that’s the kind of share that some numbskulls invest in* just because of the ticker or the name. Tadpole Technology was another one, while RMP somewhat ironically (at present) is basically RAMP...
Couldn’t have come at a better time for Our Colin!
Yep. Deffo looked to me like a Bed-and-ISA or similar. Roughly double my holding, lucky bugger!
All it was lacking was a few references to the Illuminati, lizard people, paedos and Princess Di, and some small mention of a former footballing and minor punditry career...
