I cannot imagine to have the balls to short this sort of story. When there is a real chance to multiple, whataever low chance you attach to that scenario, its is like playing with hand grenade.

Your calculation is flawed and oversimplistic. Assuming that the potential payout is priced as 0 today, and after getting somehow ths specific ammount , you simply add that to the recent sp....

In case of PDVSA, the fact, that the VZ government, then the oppositon politicians financed many official cost through the company, made it possible to the american judge to male the decision on this " alter ego " thing, then initiaze the auction of CITGO. (And this we experienced even 20 fold rise of one of the creditors, who sueffered an expropriation in the past. And instead of persuing a small fraction of their claim, there is chance to full payment ).

More precisely with its parent company. They would have this decision, YPF couldnt hold any asset abroad. I dont know whats the case with their payment methods and bank accounts. It definetaly would be a huge step.

I guess there might be numerous, as his workings dates back to more than a decade. I ve hears of him from Lynn Alden, who is a famous macro analyst, and mentioned him. Imdeed he has a very impressive work, hundreds of dispatches (weekly monthly), all of them some special approach.. But he is not out of personal reach, answered me each time when I had saome special question or temark, or juat expreases my gratitude towards him.

I doubt that the gold price rally has anything with US debt . In that case USD should depriciate against other currencies with low debt. Other commodities perhaps with the excepttion of aolver and copper havent move that much. So, I guess the whole process is due to Ukrain war, thus the freeze and then seizure of hundreds of billions of russian assets. Other powers prefer not to be in a similar situation with their reserves.

Pro you should search for a hobby, that makes you happier, or well balanced.

Hiking, windsurfing, learn and play tennis, or simply ride your bike.

These things may result in a miracle, I promise, you wont feel the sort of frustration, that make you feel compelled to mock others, even in an investing board.

Potential future revenue will obviously be divided, ditstributed among stakeholders. All the mentioned are stakeholders. The financeer will hold the risks. The state has the ownership of its resources, in some form the will get to their share (loyalty or special taxation) Etc. And with a govermment like that one, people cloae to the power may claim theirs, in any form. Thats the way it goes.

With stories and companies like this (GCM), the attractiveness for me exactly the same why you avoid them. Choseing the appropriate scale and proportion(ally small part) of your portfolio, you max calculate the worst case easily (zero). Regard these investments as options without a fix maturity, and then even the most cautious and conservative investor may find the way to use theese opportunities with full comfort. (Not to mention the volatility, and rapid rise, wich give you the chance to withdraw as s profit taking all your initial capital, opening the door to hold the remaiming without excitement.
