Genuinely do not understand the strategy here. So far as existing shareholders are concerned the company is pretty well finished with regards to its current value and the claimants are now reliant on these same shareholders to fund their claim. I for one will have to think long and hard about investing further and would only do so if I saw a chance of recovering all losses. The company and Putin seem to be on a similar strategy.

Not shaping up well in Sweden so far.

Firstly it has been stated that the lifespan of the mine is expected to be much longer as the resource will be larger than the current JORC assessment. Secondly, should we read into Hakan's statement that the Sami would prefer to have a mine with a much longer lifespan. I'm sure we can help him on that.

sj, Bolidens is a somewhat different situation than Kallak, It was the Mining Inspectorate that refuse the concession (not the case with Kallak) and was appealed. I assume the appeal has failed. Mining has already taken place at Boliden in the past but the company need to expand the mining area. I don't know the details of the refusal but they can no doubt be researched. Below is an extract from their website:
However, in December 2016 Boliden’s application for the mining concession at Laver was rejected by the
Swedish Mining Inspectorate. Boliden has subsequently appealed this decision to the
Swedish Government. The Swedish Government has given no prognosis on the timing of a decision.

Suzy, yep I meant Kallak as a whole-there should be no impediment to putting both N&S into a new corporate entity. As long as they don't make a mess of it as Tiziana has!

A tie up with LKAB has oft been mooted and may be part of some behind the scenes discussion with Thor. Thinking aloud, could Kallak be spun off as a separate company listed in Sweden and/or London, leaving BEM with its other projects. BEM shares are largely in private hands which has both positive and negative consequences. At least we don't have a large professional investor that can manipulate the SP at a whim. I remain confident we will achieve the concession, in some form or other, and there will be a decent re-rate as a result. What fun we do have speculating.

Pocko-Swedes have 75% 0f the shares so not sure if they are dog or tail! I think their pricing system is based more on bid and offer rather than market makers setting a price. Anyway Sweden slightly blue now, hopefully we will follow suit.

AIM. Sounds like it is or could be used in desalination processes. If so, valuable as we see more drought due to climate change. Thanks for your technical input.

JTG. I would be cautious about putting all our eggs into the graphite basket. Iron ore has a predictable future but graphite is currently heavily linked to car battery technology. I would prefer to see the company run both, if it can.

That's a less easy answer as the price depends greatly on the flake grade, oddly the larger the flake the better. Been on the rise since 2019 and market view is that prices will increase dramatically between now and 2025 due to battery demand. Battery technology is however advancing rapidly as are alternatives to electric, which could affect demand. Car manufacturers are heavily investing in electric cars so alternative power sources seem unlikely to affect demand in the medium term. On balance the demand profile for graphite should be upward, especially for the right size flake which I recall BEM has said we have. If anyone has better info happy to be corrected or augmented.

Suzy. Ore prices are currently low but forecast to rise through 2022 into 2023, $200/ton later this year which could add to any positive decision on Kallak.

Gambier. I would presume to say it is a valuation but it is an opinion. Kallak alone has an inferred resource of 250mt high grade ore (75% iron). Current ore prices are circa £100/ton for 63% ore. This would give a gross value estimate of £25b so an mcap of £500m represents about 2% of GV which I don't think is over optimistic. Like many here I am just a long term holder who hopes my patience will be rewarded with the concession.
