JoeyDiamond - Unfortunately there's a large section of society who don't listen to experts, and instead listen to the Daily Mail, some crackpot Twitter scientist who badly interprets/manipulates data, or their mate Sharron who's got a PhD in hot-air.
The mRNA vaccines themselves are essentially intrinsically safe, as they basically get the body to make parts of the virus, and don't combine to make the whole thing. So the body just finds these parts, learns to recognise them (and kill them), without there ever being a full fledged virus multiplying/attacking/weakening the body.
I'd take one of these mRNA vaccines in a heartbeat if I could get one. Hell, I'd even pay £100 right now to get one, even though I think there's a good chance I had mild COVID earlier in the year (had a weird flu in summer which is unusual).
