It is a conspiracy theory because you’re basically saying the directors will criminally neglect their duty to act in the interests of the company/shareholders and take some lowball offer to make themselves rich.
It’s essentially accusing them of a crime with no reason or basis.

PS.....if DB really does hold PI's in low regard, he's probably a good judge of character, based on most of the nonsense they write, usually based on nothing more than the SP of the thing they've just bought not doubling every two minutes ;)

I don't hold your average AIM PI in high esteem either......most of them talk total nonsense or react in hysterics if the share price doesn't double every two minutes.....so if that's actually true he's probably right not to ;)

That's not really a remotely fair or valid comparison though is it?

Amerisur's share price has been on a continual decline for years (the exact opposite of HUM), had a court case against it for polluting waters brought by the locals, in London, with the court freezing assets, and so it's not exactly a surprise it was sold off and there was a swift exit!

I'd be surprised if any investor was remotely interested in under 50p sands and I think DB could expect a lot of angry phone-calls if he sold this for less than 50p. However it's extremely unlikely they'd have worked all these years, to get to this point, and sell out at the worst possible moment, for a lowball amount, with all their projects coming to fruition! Would make zero sense at all!
Thankfully I think there's very little chance of that indeed.

Anyway.......back to HUM........it's always reassuring that, whilst going through the numbers of other gold/resource companies people have tipped (seems to be that time of year), I always find myself thinking "why would I buy this...the numbers at HUM are miles better".

Interestingly, after the expected pause to cool off, this didn't pull back to 31/32p towards the close, which would probably normally be expected. Instead there's some more buying coming in again towards close in some decent sizes. A very good day indeed.

I always say, if Goldman Sachs says buy something, it's probably time to sell it. Do as they do not as they say.

anon3 - those automated sites are garbage.....if you'd listened to them you'd have been selling two days ago at the lows rather than buying.

anon3 - my biggest lesson from this year personally is quite the opposite...in that I need to be more patient!
For the vast majority of things I'd invested in, if I'd just held longer, I would have made a lot more money (although I can't really complain at my returns this year :p).
If I'm honest, in most instances it was probably due to the exact same psychological reason that you're considering selling when breakeven or a little bit up!

PS....there's a possible warning flag in your post "Go on that BB and everyone is massively bullish over it's prospects". Messageboards and social media are usually always bullish and personally I try to actively avoid shares that already have a huge PI following (it usually means most of them are already invested and it's going to need a lot of success to avoid big drops in the future).
It's part of the reason I like #HUM, there's still hardly anyone talking about it, bar the odd few people on here (not that we're odd :p). Means most of "the herd" are still invested in something else and could easily latch on if it starts rising and becomes the next favourite.

They'll tell you anything that's been going up for a while is a buy and anything that's been going down for a while is a sell.
