Not bad. The pull back at the end reversed and bounced back up a bit. Nice way to close out the week and log off.

The algo's seem to have taken a few days off on Shanta (and actually a fair few other goldies I'm looking at) and haven't reacted yet to gold's move(s). Over 1800 now (1811).

It'll get interesting, because it'd have broken through a level it kept knocking on the door of, and right to the limit of the top edge of the wider downtrend channel, on the cusp of a big breakout. It jumped up nicely after going through 111.6, but 112.6 (very roughly) will be the point beyond which it starts to be into clearer air. Counting no chickens until it holds above there but everything's been nice so far.
Not really the best time to be having a breakout as everyone closes out for the weekend. So any half decent finish and a push on Monday would be good.

So I should say/caveat that whilst I don’t believe in it…I acknowledge the impact it’s widespread usage can have (in a self fulfilling way) ;)

TA nonsense. I don’t believe in it but more than ever things can go lower than they should because of technical BA and by the same token go higher than they should. Not everyone trades on fundamentals and when many (of all sizes) use TA it can have an impact…even if it’s not the be all and end all and I wouldn’t rely on it.

I think if VOD breaks (and holds) above the 111.6 level it'll get very interesting.

(Still clearing a couple of giant Yank funds who've been selling for a long while imo - and the renewed interest will only have accelerated this)

A share price in the short/medium term is rarely a good measure of a company's performance. Simply a reflection of buyers/sellers. You get a big seller (or sellers) in anything and it won't matter how good the company is if they sell more than the other buyers at that time. When they stop though...

The other thing with VOD, for all the waffle about debt and interest rates, rates can go up and it'll still be making feck loads of money, the interest payments are but a small part taken off the 15bn or so it that generates. Unless rates are going to go seriously high for a long time - but it's not as if western economies can afford that anyway.

Problem for takeovers is it's worth so much that it makes takeover candidates a narrow pool but the lower it gets the more appealing it would be.

150 million of volume today. Even if there's no reason behind the rise it will have cleared a good chunk of seller's shares.

Share price going nuts. Despite the moaning.
