Sounds rather like XEL (Xcite energy) many years ago Predators.
Back when I was relatively wet behind the ears and unaware of AIM games.
I think I sold it in the morning as it was tanking and heading down 1,2,3,4,5,6% and picking up pace. I was going to be commuting with no access to live data so decided to be prudent and sell out for a small loss.
Much to my great ire I log on later to see it's risen by some stupid amount, 50/70/100%.
Fairly blatantly the market makers / brokers utterly rinsing the newbies like me at the time so they had plenty of shares for the inevitable rise on the news they no doubt knew about.
Then there was some Chinese ship building company (Shandong springs to mind but can't remember)......had no interest or investment in it.....but was reading morning RNSs from lots of companies and thought "that's about the worst RNS I've ever seen" as they'd lost virtually all their big contracts and looked totally shafted to me.......the price then rose about 1/2/300%........totally baffling me as to how I could be so wrong......however shortly after I think it delisted/went bust......reassured me I wasn't mad in my RNS interpretation but shows the nonsense that can go on with the price action!
(percentages quoted are all vague recollections without checking but you get the idea!)
