I've held these shares since the very early 1990s when the company was called Commercial Union. I paid £4.90 per share and in spite of all the changes with Norwich Union etc the number of shares I have held has not changed. They did go up to about £8 a few years ago but they are now lower than they were 25 years ago. In spite of continual positive broker recommendations and glowing annual reports all I have seen has been poor management, ridiculous pay and bonuses, poor decision making, waste of money sponsorship, waste of money (stupid) name changes, not to mention a dividend cut. I havn't sold them because I've written them off - and you never know miracles can happen. A good daily bet is that Aviva will underperform the FTSE.
