Thank you Push. That was a really good analogy and made it a lot easier to understand. Thanks again.

It is planned that the manufacture contract for the Fleet Solid Support Ships will be signed within two years of competition launch in May 2021.
Up to May then for full sign off although I would expect it to be Q1
Very interesting thanks. If you pause at 1:48 in it gives a good idea of what they are planning with part of the £77m with regards to new fabrication facilities and the modules coming in from Appledore for FSS. Very interesting
Don't go back to that. Didn't age well at the time! :)
Ha ha some civil servant is going to have a miserable couple of weeks preparing answers for all those
I mean I am super loving this but there are a few things that might put the brakes on.... Not signed off by treasury yet (may be a formality) as long as no sudden change on Govt. Placing (lets face it would be a much cheaper way of company raising working capital now) warrants for the finance deal etc. Not saying all these will happen but certainlt if the JR goes ok in Jan it could motor on even more
Ask was .88 when it went through

Fair enough Stokey
Would MOD not prefer London listed Stokey? Taking enough heat for Navantia if you dare go on the likes of comments sections in Mirror or Daily Mail articles online
Man this guy has so much hate, let it go!...
For a perspective from a member of the Defence Select Committee here is a link to twitter thread from Mr Kevan Jones MP. https://twitter.com/KevanJonesMP/status/1592864454395715585
The bare faced cheek of this guy...
GMB union national officer Matt Roberts said: "Following today’s announcement, the Defence Secretary must reassure GMB members and the public that all UK shipyards will get the work they need to thrive - no UK region or nation left behind.
Coupe of interesting lines...
It added: "The proposal pledges that the entire final assembly for all three ships will be completed at Harland & Wolff’s shipyard in Belfast, with the three 216-metre-long vessels – each the length of two Premier League football pitches - to be built to Bath-based BMT’s entirely British design.
"Under the contract, the majority of the blocks and modules for the ships would be constructed at Harland & Wolff’s facilities in Belfast and Appledore, with components to be manufactured in their other delivery centres in Methil and Arnish.
Congratulations to all at HARL. Hopefully see proper shipbuilding in Belfast again soon.
Can't see that. I can see it going to 18-20p
Interesting about the supply chain below. Nothing for NI. Maybe the FSS will be the UK Gov means of levelling up....
Improving build efficiency, BAE Systems has submitted a planning application for a new 175 metre long, 85 metre wide Shipbuilding Hall at Govan, which will allow two frigates to be built simultaneously under cover. This investment will be a major factor in the final five City-class ships costing less and being delivered faster than previous vessels.
In the manufacturing supply chain, £248 million worth of work has been committed to Scotland, with £16 million to Wales and £749 million to England.
TBH I can't believe HARL is up 54% in 5 days and the topic of conversation on this board is a peat ban in RoI! (You can still dig your own).
I'm back in profit thankfully after selling some at a loss on the way down and then buying at the bottom.
From Harry's mouth in the last presentation re finance terms
Finance terms tomorrow, launch by year end I think
Probably won't go to this one but it should be a good one with the barges under construction now and I can 2nd that they are very worthwhile. If nothing else it is a very interesting place to be given a tour of plus the opportunity to ask JW face to face this time I believe
Given the date of the RNS was 28 Oct and it states... 'Early next week directional drilling begins' it looks like that is a week behind? Does that seem right?
