RE: Discovery to Production29 Mar 2021 16:43
I can give SolGold (SOLG) as an example of timeframes - with reference to their Cascabel Project, with huge Copper, Gold & Silver assets. (i've been invested there since 2013 and it's been a huge SP rollercoaster i can tell you - as Tiger knows). They started exploring Cascabel in earnest some 9 years ago and now hope to have a PFS in place later this year. It could likely take another 3 to 5 more years until a block caving mine has been built and the first precious metals are produced - earning money for the first time. So that's around 12 to 14 years in development before production and income from sales.
This just gives a flavour of how long these things can take. i think it's fair to add that Covid and Politics in Ecuador have adversely impacted on timeframes at Cascabel too.
I'm not ramping SOLG btw, just using it as an example, and of course things could well play out entirely differently for BOD. My personal hope would be a buyout of the company once the Thorny River drilling campaign is finalised - hopefully later this year. That would just leave the juicy question of what price for a buyout ??
aimho of course, gla :)
