Don't know about Alaska but Garmin/out are the norm with oil exploration companies , they have little money so in reality it's the only way forward. Dana Petroleum did this on a grand scale and the last financial report before being brought out showed that they made £1+ per share from their 0/0 of the deal, no dividend was paid the money was used to buy further leases that's how the game is played. So if you want to get rich quick then get out now! As you have to wait a long time for the mega bucks which will be provided if a company eventually ends up as a producer, which many strive to do, and shareholders start knocking on the door for a dividend. Reference the big boys coming out to play, my understanding from when Dana Petroleum consolidated shares 15 for 1 was so that the big boys could come out to play. The shares traded as penny shares for a very long time, until they took off from their consolidation price. Perhaps things have changed since then?
