Jds15 i would move but my other half won't sadly due to older parents. I did look though and Portugal came out top for me as a choice if it were on the cards. Sadly it looks like I will stay in the UK :-( but I do want to move to the lakes then instead.

If you live in a nice area with a local pub in a white area :-) you can live in your own bubble with enough money and just switch off from gov and wars. And just make sure you hold or can sell assets to cover a 5 year down turn. I will be selling a car or 2 next month and just putting all that in a new ISA 5th April. I am sure you can transfer Stocks and shares cash to a money only, will need to look at these new rules !!!

Worse case I can go 7 years with no drawn down takings, but lower wages, or 5 years on a very nice income as my outing goings are super low bar cars spends.

I am 56 so having to bridge the gap to state pension which if I am allowed it is always welcome. I live well but not daft so 26/27 i have a £70k net income (that's more then I paid myself when working !!) then I will drop to £50k PA net income ongoing indexed linked. My other half still works as only 47.

great timing with a £130k pot drop 6 days before !!! But I did forward plan to be able to take a 20% hit in year 1 stress test.

But it's an eye opener for sure if people plan to retire and don't hold a cash reserve and forced to sell shares at low prices.

Investerintheknow with talks of market crashes higher borrowing and higher inflation every thing is a risk these days.

maybe even a recession again. at least div stock pay out money while we wait for wars to end. I get £36k in divs accross my pot and don't have to sell anything. Markets due a crash but is that 1 year or 5 years a way or now we have had a correction will it do a 2nd one !

interest rates will go up inter swap rates are up hence >5% mortgages now.

Banks have priced in 4 interest rates rises. I bought we will see them but Banks are greedy :-)

A lot of people are retired and like high interest rates, should also drop house prices which is good for movers :-)
