Today we were smacked with a bat in the crotch by the China AI news, with no warning and no chance to put on the protective 'Cup' :)

I for one feel rather sore today - all of last weeks gained gone in 1 day - such is life :)

It's the butterfly effect, if one sector flops it will drag ALL shares down unfortunately.

Its a HARD drop today - I'd almost forgotten the reality check of a 5% drop day :(

Shares go up AND down on a day/week basis, its the natural order of life - the important thing is longer term direction.

@iParsnip - Being honest when I started trading in 2022, I had a 5 year plan to try and recover HUGE losses I made back in 2002 when I lost a shed load and stopped trading, got busy with kids and life and making a few quid the 'OLD fashioned way' working a blue collar job :)

So all I wanted was to break even by recovering earlier losses and had a vague 5 year window in mind, however as we got higher and higher the goal posts changes and here we are - WAY above what I could have ever dreamt of :)

I'm not going to quote figures here but - I've never sold anything in RR since I started buying (around 90p ish) but have been adding where I can and now plan to stick around for a another year or two barring any major RR/world bad news

Reading some of the posts on here I KNOW my investment portfolio is pennies compared to most but I'm happy, ive never had money so my small portfolio seems HUGE to me even if others would laugh at it :)

I feel for the retail holders here today, having been at the butt end of these falls before myself - it ain’t pretty.

Let’s hope it recovers again like last time even if it took me nearly 3 years to make a SMALL profit.
