We must emphasise that the Special Purpose “ project of national significance approval “ given by Cabinet last year and the fact the refinery is being built and winter diesel fuel shortages must override a few activists . If all this is stressed to the local Soum members and the committee has voted 16 to 2 as and the compensation money is awaiting transfer to the herders maybe it’ll be signed on without any publicity which gets out to the activists .

Once you get over the disappointment of not seeing what we had all hoped. would be confirmation of the sign off of the LP in todays RNS and you re-read it the fact is the local committee have approved it the compensation is waiting to be transferred and the activists have blown off steam principally about PC carrying out fracking which has now been stopped.

The locals want cash jobs and an easier life after a tough winter and central government approves anyway so , as they’ve said before “ we have no objection if central have no objection ..”

I just think the activists have just stalled it for now but they’ll grant it soon especially if the herders push for their money

During its regular session on April 3, 2024, the Cabinet made the following decisions:

Directive Issued to Cabinet Members and Governors Regarding Land Ownership and Usage

At the Cabinet meeting, the approval of the list detailing the location, size, and purpose of land intended for ownership and usage by citizens, companies, and government organizations in 2024 at the national level was confirmed.

The Cabinet members and provincial governors have been directed not to authorize decisions concerning land ownership or usage in areas not included in the newly approved register.

This directive aims to curtail unauthorized land acquisition and usage, adhere to existing land and urban development laws, mitigate land disputes, and reduce the costs associated with land acquisition.
