Haha these de-tampers have clearly done very little research. KNB has been a great move so far, and we’re still cutting even with Mode although it will fly towards the end of BTC’s bull run (September time).

Lots of other great investments on the go too, we’ve just got to sit patiently to watch them flourish.

And clearly Hector meant 9m shares, not £9m worth. Why be so fickle?

To note i also believe there has been some market maker trickery with Vela this week.

If today's buys vs sells here on LSE can be taken as truth, there have been 3x more buys today.
So the fall in SP makes no sense, unless it's being manipulated for whatever reason.

It's also worth baring in mind that the UK markets have been down this week, which will certainly have an impact on Vela's SP.

It's somewhat common for AIM listed shares (and micro cap main market shares) to drop in value after good news is announced. Presumably due to short term profit takers, also known as 10%ers.

10% gains have no interest to me, and neither does the short term SP movement.

Pwil, I haven’t seen a single person claim that Vela will reach 1p next week.

Today's investment was overly unexpected, but certainly welcomed by myself.
JN must see potential in this company and the industry which they operate in, so it'll be cool to see how this performs.

Davies, I think you may have misinterpreted the conversation. The reason that myself and others have claimed that 1p is possible is because others have claimed that Vela will never reach 1p, which imo is far more “wooly”. It’s merely a (valid) counter argument apposed to a prediction with a timeframe in mind.

So, when do we recon news will land? Vela have kept us up to date rather well so far, and I’d say we’re likely to receive news by the end of Q1 (next Wednesday). Either way the trial is somewhat near completion so not much time left to accumulate a holding it you’re planning to do so.

Mubadala were involved with the Arcadia trial from the start and now they’re donating £800m into UK life sciences, which today has been officially signed off. I’d say that SGS receiving a cut of this investment is near enough 100% guaranteed.

Compared to all of Vela’s other investments JN has really gone in big here by investing £2.35m! It’s now extremely likely that AZD1656 will become a certified drug, fetching hundreds of millions in revenues worldwide, of which Vela will receive a nice slice.

To those saying that Vela cannot reach 1p, I implore you to crunch the number again.

Let’s not forget about the many other fantastic investments which this company is involved in too.

This is going to be a fantastic year for shareholders, and the current SP is an absolute gift.

Jimmy did try help you MG, lol. Hope you took his advice. Do you feel any less pessimistic about Vela after today’s performance? Even if you didn’t average down you should still cut even before long. The question is will you be staying or not?

In terms of overall running costs of the company i'm unsure.
But from what i can tell from page 29, the director's wages range from £52,000 - £64,000 per year which is rather modest imo.

As shown by JN's track record, a lifestyle company is very unlikely.
