The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
I for one am very optimistic about AZD 1656.
To date, all updates suggest that the treatment works extremely well and the people involved are clearly very optimistic
From what I have read the treatment will be suitable for people with a lowered immune system, not just for diabetics, which suggests to me that the tablet could also be used by people with healthy immune systems who contract Covid 19
The fact that Boris has recently been talking about a miracle oral drug, Matt Han**** is hopeful to turn the UK into a “Life Sciences Superpower”, and Mubadala (who are already invested in the trial) have committed £800m to UK life sciences alongside and additional £200m investment from the UK, this could be shaping up to be the perfect storm!
NCYT 3 bagged on the release of their Covid test; SNG 5 bagged on results of their Covid trial, both companies are much bigger than Vela in terms of market cap
All we need is some good PR on the run up to these results and Vela’s share price will truly rocket
Topped up today aswel HH, I was already over exposed but couldn’t help myself haha
Spaghetti, if you’ve been here for three years then you’ll be fully aware that JN is now in charge and he’s been methodically re-structuring our investment portfolio. Imo you might aswel look at Vela as a different, new and improved company which is yet to come into fruition
As we all know Vela isn't a covid stock, far from it. But most of us know how well certain covid stocks have performed over the past year, and the one which sticks out for me is Novacyt
I don't know too much about NCYT as a company, but i do know that in September last year the share price went up by over 300% in a month on the release of their covid antibody test. Before this rise NCYT was already a £200m+ company, so for it to 3 bag for releasing a covid test is pretty impressive
Now of course both Vela and Novacyt are completely different companies when you compare their business structure, size, field of work, etc, so there are many things which cannot be compared between the two. But in regards to releasing a product into the current market, in Vela's case a potential covid TREATMENT, for a company currently valued at a mere £10m i think this could exceed many people's expectations if the AZD 1656 trial is a success
That’s May 14th at latest, so only 9 trading days to go before receiving timelines for “database lock” and the reporting of the initial study results
As per the last RNS -
“The final study visit ('Last Patient Out' date) will be no more than 28 days after completion of enrolment. Once the final study visit has taken place, the timelines for database lock and the reporting of the initial study results will be communicated. At this time, it is estimated that initial results will be available by the end of June 2021, with the full results available approximately 8 weeks thereafter”
This certainly feels like the calm before the storm to me
Good luck all & have a nice bank holiday
Totally agree, selling at these levels is pure madness
All trades are showing as sells here on LSE, but after checking through the 12 trades so far only one of them seems to be a sell. I've just managed to pick some up at 0.076p so pretty happy with that
Good luck all
Belstaff - Thanks for letting me know, lol
It's clear that there are many investors on this board who are flapping, perhaps because they bought on the last rise and are now under water, which has turned them against the share instead of forcing them to re-evaluate their investing strategies.
I'm fortunate enough to have brought my average down on the last rise, and thus remain patient and positive about my investment
If you do end up selling, just make sure you don't FOMO back in
Good luck all
Looking forward to see what next Thursday brings in that case
Although the price of Bitcoin is not directly linked to CLP's share price (yet), the daily chart suggests that BTC will be at a higher price next week than it is currently
I've just done a dummy buy for 1,000 shares which provided the price of 127.83p
In my opinion this is a decent price to buy when you consider the recent director dealings around the 140p region
I then tried a dummy sell for 1,000 shares which went to NT
It appears that the MM's are only looking to sell today
