Darcey171 sounds as though we both got into IAG at roughly the same time and price, I took a loss and put everything into RR (which i already held) loss has been reversed and sitting on a reasonable profit obviously hoping RR SP will continue to increase but keeping a wary eye on it .

Good luck if you continue to hold, its got to start going up soon.

Considering the possible sale of Bicester was announced some weeks before Christmas it just seems very odd that there has been no further news, I wonder if the deal has fallen through ? hence no trading update or RNS

Still a possibility that the 777 won't get into service next year as its still having certification problems, perhaps Emirates will have to place an order for Airbus 350-1000 RR powered if Em and RR make up.

So sad and extremely disappointing the way the SP has performed over the last 2/3 years especially when you hear that travel is almost back to 2019 levels, record passengers passing through LHR yet IAG SP continues to fall.

IParsnip Interesting but worrying article, you have to wonder where our so called Government loyalty lies it seems as though its with the French, what other Government in the world would pass a contract of this size to another Country when home grown is available? Just unbelievable but things could change .

So was the entire growth of RR based on SMR? we had no definite announcements only a few weeks ago it was reported that RR had a number of top posts filled for the SMR programme, the aero engine division is booming with multiple orders coming in with more due very soon, surely one announcement shouldn't of had such effect to the SP, yesterday another broker was suggesting a £4 SP let's wait and see what is reported in February.

Over reaction surely to the Nuclear power station news that's at least 20 years away.

Hoping that it won't make to much difference to RR what happened to the 737 MAX has absolutely nothing to do with RR the fault is with the company who build the fuselage for Boeing or the company who did the fitting out, aviation/airlines may be down a tad tomorrow but unless more grounding's are announced business should return to normality swiftly, unless you are Boeing.

I believe BA have 50 737 MAX on order with options for many more, cant understand why they are not adding additional Airbus short haul to the fleet, presumably a better deal from Boeing.

With the poor reputation of the 737MAX, I cannot understand why IAG/BA have orders for the MAX when Airbus and Embraer have suitable alternatives, I for one would not feel comfortable flying in a Max this incident will harm the reputation of this aircraft type further.

These so call experts have as much idea as anybody in guessing what is going to happen to the share price over next 12 months, if this individual thinks it could go up 60% why would you not add, I hope it does increase by 60% but trust your own instincts and don't be guided.

Surely pilot error or ATC issue that caused the accident today in Japan, testament to the build quality of the a350 and cabin crew that evacuated the aircraft quickly and effectively.
