Again, you seem to misunderstand the relationship between ODX and the UK-RTC.

ODX didn't develop the UK-RTC AbC19 test. It doesn't own the IP for the AbC19 test. ODX can't do anything with it other than through the consortium, which is why we are talking about the UK-RTC.

ODX has capacity to manufacture a range of tests, including the AbC19 test. It is increasing that capacity.

I'm not sure what you think they're not doing which they should be doing - but it seems fairly clear you don't understand the business... There's lots of information available on the ODX web-site that you can read.

@Grasshoppers - ODX also isn't a "start-up" company. It's an established company that's been around for over 30 years.

I really think you don't understand either Omega Diagnostics or the UK-RTC.

In respect of the UK-RTC AbC19 test, ODX is purely additional manufacturing capacity for the lead provider, Abingdon Healthcare. It doesn't own the IP for the test.

ODX already has a distribution/sales arm for it's own tests, including representation in a number of coutries.

Can we please get one thing straight? ODX *is not* selling the UK-RTC test. All sales are being managed, on behalf of the UK-RTC consortium, by CIGA Healthcare.

CIGA have been taking pre-orders for the Professional POC version of the AbC19 test for a number of weeks.

It won't be the Fortress test as:

(a) Fortress no longer have EUA from MHRA.
(b) the award notice is clear that it is an Orientgene test.

Orientgene is a Chinese company that produces a number of tests, including a Covid 19 IgG/IgM antibody LFT, which is what this order is for.

200,000 is a small order. This is Pillar 4, so it's for surveillance testing. 200,000 tests will be few weeks worth of tests. I have a feeling this may be being bought as a buffer until the UK-RTC test is available in sufficient quantity.

As has been pointed out numerous times before, we *are not* selling them - they are being sold on behalf of the consortium by CIGA. Therefore, your assumptions based on the selling price are incorrect.

We assemble the tests. We don't just make reagent strips, as was suggested. Colin specifically referenced getting another cassette machine from Finland to increase the capacity for assembling the tests.

I'm assuming boxing the tests up. I would think there will be different packaging/information for different sales channels. Professional POC will be different from self-use.

The government are likely to want all the tests that can be produced in the short term. It will need a chunk to replace the Fortress test in Pillar 4 surveys - and it's ramping up the size of those studies. It will also potentially need a chunk for health and care worker testing.

And that's before we get to widescale public testing...

Err... no. What this RNS confirms is that the government has first refusal on the UK-RTC tests and their permission is needed to sell to third parties.

That's a bare faced lie from Johnson. Full Fact have pulled it apart several times. He's quoting theoretical testing capacity and/or tests undertaken rather than actual numbers of people tested.

Sooner they roll out the UK-RTC test the better.

My other half says it's unlikely, as they have not published results yet and haven't completed Phase III trials yet. He thinks it may just be a bit of PR from Pfizer (they're having issues in the US).

He reckons Oxford/AstraZeneca are more likely to get approval first.
