So far, nothing is working.
There is a pilot plant. This is a preliminary process, carried out at the facilities of the Minerals Technology Council (Mintek) in Johannesburg, which aims to combine rare earth elements into a concentrated form before further processing. The mixed rare earth sulfate produced there is then sent to the K-Technologies (K-Tech) rare earth separation plant.
There are NO results to support laboratory testing.
Signed "Memorandum of Understanding with a diversified chemicals group based in South Africa (the "chemicals group") to investigate the opportunity of extracting rare earth elements from a nitro phosphate process stream at its phosphoric acid production plant near Johannesburg in South Africa".
No results. There are no statements at all about this.
Signed a "Master Agreement (“Agreement”) with OCP S.A. ("OCP"), the Moroccan world's leading producer of phosphate products, and Mohammed VI Polytechnic University ("UM6P"), a Moroccan university emphasizing science, technology and innovation (together the "Parties") to further study and develop optimal recovery technology rare earth elements from phosphogypsum."
no results. There are no statements at all about this.
Signed "Memorandum of understanding ("MOU") with The Mosaic Company ("Mosaic"), the world's leading integrated producer of concentrated phosphate and potash, to jointly develop a process flowsheet and conduct a preliminary economic assessment related to the extraction of rare earth elements from Mosaic's phosphogypsum stack in the Uberaba area of Minas Gerais in Brazil."
This is just a Memorandum of Understanding.
What will be the technological and economic result is unknown. Will it be positive, satisfying the Mosaic?
