RE: Rare Earth Demand Remains Weak11 Dec 2024 12:30
I am just stating the facts.
Traditional utilization methods suffered from issues of low REEs leaching efficiency, huge amount of CaSO4 saturated wastewater and high recovery cost.
To solve these problems, first of all, it is necessary to understand the following issues of REE presence in phosphogypsum, namely:
1. REEs mineral inclusions,
2.REEs isomorphous substitution of Ca2+ in gypsum lattice,
3. dispersed soluble REEs salts.
These issues were treated extremely superficially. Which is depressing.
Namely, this influences the degree of extraction of REE, as well as the choice and concentration of reagents for their extraction, and extraction time. All these indicators affect the cost of extraction.
RBW did not fully understand the issues mentioned above and started leaching work. First they wanted to get double REE sulfate, then mixed REE carbonate.
So far, RBW has not provided any data on the chemical composition of the products they have received.
