RE: Trading in a very tight range21 Jan 2019 22:58
Pete,
I would suggest that GLEN is possibly worth more that 296p but how do you justify 500p? The markets are telling us that it is currently worth roughly 300p based on its expected financials, based on the risks it takes and based on the estimated future returns. The first one alone would provide a much higher value, the 2nd will discount that value quite heavily but the 3rd one is the difficult one to judge. A global slowdown led by US & China would have a big negative impact to investor sentiment. A rosier view (eg US/China deal, China supporting its economy etc) would be positive for the share. But sentiment changes daily so very difficult to call. But not 500p, no, imho.
I would not be surprised to see either 250p or 350p+ in 2019. I obviously hope for the latter but almost impossible to predict this market with so many variables in play.
Good luck to all who have GLEN.
Tom
