People have gone into fear mode. If this news had come out a month or two back the price would be rocketing up. Just give it a moment for sentiment to do a u-turn. A juicy RNS would help.
Boom
If spit is this much more difficult than swab and Avacta think they have a viable spit test, just imagine how high they are going to blow the roof off with the nasal swab test.
Oftinhipe, this is a great little paper.
I found this a worthy read also. Suggests ignoring PCR result above 30ct so you end up best case at a 58% sensitivity for Innova.

The article to me suggests Moonshot can work but we need a test that reliably picks up infectious individuals whilst retaining high specificity. That test does not exist on the market today. Remember that wording for the RNS a while back about ‘in the infectious range’ (or something similar).
Overall I can’t help thinking that Avacta are working hand in glove with preferential treatment from UK government because they are the only LFD with a chance of being truly good enough. *THIS* is why Al is not sounding off from the rooftops. Rather he doesn’t want to give the game away that Avacta are getting special treatment. The government will not want this either hence - NDA.
My prediction? We won’t get any share of the tender. Instead we’ll supply UK gov. via a direct un-tendered route for a price greater than £6. Might not hear about it until Jan though. If I’m right it will be rocketship to the moon time!
I own the later. Some local scrote is confident his Corsa is faster than my beemer because he has me at the lights every morning.
What the plonker doesn’t realise is I’m letting her warm up before opening the taps. Could make the spotty oik a pinprick in the rear view mirror anytime I choose but I’m sensible enough to bide my time.
Sound familiar? Patience people. Nearly warm enough for Sport+ mode. Come on Big Al.
The level of impatience on this board is getting effing rediculous. Some people here are acting like they have ordered a multibagger for Christmas and the delivery van is late!
I work in product development and have worked with some fantastic engineers over the years creating products that I look back on with great pride. Were these always delivered on time? Well, some of them were. The least ambitious projects that didn’t cover much new ground quite often came in on time. However, the really game changing products where we pushed the boat out and did something new? No, always late to some degree. Sometimes very late. Those products were the most amazing of all plus you know they can’t be quickly copied.
What does ‘late’ even mean anyway? It just means an estimated timeline turned out to be wrong. Estimating timescales for projects that cover new ground or which rely on numerous third parties you can’t control is not easy. We are not going to miss the market opportunity. Testing will go on for long enough that we will bring in a big chunk of change regardless.
Until recently, most of the moaning came from the paid stock bashers. More recently I’m seeing names I assumed were genuine holders pitching in too. Look, if you want the big gains that come with cutting edge science then this is the level of uncertainty you have to live with. Some of us are comfortable in the research we have done.
My prediction is that BAMS results will be mindblowing and turn the valuation of Avacta on its head, regardless of what happens with the LFD. The power of Affimers becomes proven. Then add in an LFD that trumps all the others and we really get lift off.
So I say, either shut up and sod off or sit tight, believe in your own research and wait for the countdown to the moon to commence. Who cares exactly when it comes?
All sounds plausible to me as an ignorant member of the public. Does make you wonder though, are all the vaccines excellent or is it that the PCR test is shyte?

Interesting read, thanks for sharing. Nobody wants an ‘I’m a Celebrity’ style “It *could* be you” result.
I’m sure this must have been asked before so apologies...
Given Affimers are known to be able to attach themselves to cancerous cells, could this allow an LFD to be made for use in continuous mass screening for common cancers?
20 seconds in the Microwave does the trick but mum’s the word.
All Avacta staff are over at BBI packing the LFDs ready for the UK gov contract. They are dropping a Ferrero Rocher in with each one. I mean, it is Christmas FFS. Big Al is dressed as Santa and all other staff have all come as Elves. Boris swung by this afternoon to remind them it is the season to be jolly bloody careful.
Klaus turned up (uninvited) also dressed as Santa, got arsey saying he had dibs and his now sat in a corner ****ed on sherry, mumbling.
Finally and fully puts to bed the theory that a vaccine will be a magic wand.

The paid de-ramper ****s that are currently ruining this board should read it and then just fruk off for good (Possible new Take That song).
The market is just starting to wake up to the just how much opportunity there will be for the various Avacta Covid tests over the next 2 years. Through time the oncology newsflow will then start up as a second stage rocket to mars.
Anyone who has lost faith in the last month is going to be kicking themselves badly.
This is about to blow btw. ;-)
Refers to ‘Public Contracts Regulations 2015’ which is a UK thing so not BWN.
Surely must mean Avacta have been successful (we love a good delay!):

Ignore them. Multibag coming very soon now.
Although unlikely, it is possible an NDA may not be in place however there are numerous reasons why both Avacta or the government would choose not to disclose some pieces of information. For example:
1. Commercial sensitivity. Some information would help our competition generate with their tender response.
2. Possibility that information could be provisional and need to be modified later.
3. Gov have supplied some information on the basis it is confidential.
4. Basic common sense / gentlemans agreement during discussions with gov.
What is more likely is that discussions with government that were conditional on signing an NDA. They did this for Brexit engagement with hauliers for example if you recall.
