Downing Strategic Micro Cap half year report comment :-

"In Volex Plc we made a net investment of £0.5 million during the period. This reflected our trading of this well-known holding, where we decided to increase our position when we believed that the market was not valuing it accurately. In aggregate, Volex generated realised gains of £0.94 million and unrealised gains of £1.31 million for the period (total gains of £2.25 million for the six months). We have unrealised gains of £6.16 million in total over our book cost, having already realised £7.23 million on the position, against a cost of £3.18 million."

"Hargreaves Services Plc provided an unrealised gain of £2.3m during the period, resulting in a substantial holding (11.7% of NAV at the half-year date). There were no additions or disposals in the period. We remain confident in this position and are supportive of management in their strategic direction of the company, understanding that, due to commodity prices, 2021 may have provided some windfall profits."

Share price rising again....
Interest rates look to be rising a bit again by year end which helps to boost profits in finance.
Time seems to have a CEO who is confident in his strategy in for a reasonable punt here.

"Venture Life recorded an unrealised loss of £0.52 million for the period, with the carrying value being largely equal to cost at 28 February 2021. During the period we invested a further £0.67 million. Since the period end the shares have suffered as a result of a weak trading update, which highlighted the dependency on the second half earnings. As a result, Venture Life is currently trading behind our expectations and we are engaged with management regarding their remedial actions. We believe the company is capable of utilising its capacity through the effective distribution of the owned brands, but we need to see that management are able to execute on operational challenges, not just acquisitions."

They make it sound like a complicated case and thus who would want to risk it on a throw of the dice which is English Common Law.
Thus an agreed compromise could well be the best solution for both parties, but then again depends on how confident Allianz feel about winning a court case.

Slater notify today that they now hold 8.06% up from 5.11%...

JDW have approached Allianz and proposed an ADR process.
where ADR I believe stands for Alternative Dispute Resolution, so there has to be a chance that this may never go to court and the come to an agreement outside court.

I thought part of the reason Alliance family took BWNG to AIM was inheritance tax.
If they take it private no AIM listing required and no inheritance tax saving.

I's not exactly like a whippet is it, but slowly and steadily the share price does appear to be rising.

Tungsten West to pay HSP £1 million a year on 29th of November for 7 years.

Also I believe that HSP may be in the frame for a mining services contract.

I see yesterday that Kestrel sold over 1% of their KRM holding.
Recent sp action has been good and it appears relatively easy to sell now.
I have sold at 33p, possibly too early when good news is just round the corner, but I have lost faith ..

If it was a seller overhang forcing the price down, maybe the sp can regain a more reasonable 50p or am I dreaming there ?

Looking at the trades their are 2 big sells cira 600k and 800k in volume

Maybe the end of a seller overhang and thus new buyers forcing the price up...

It's nice to a fund manager appreciating the merits of BWNG.
I agree that BWNG will have it's day, but exactly when that will be isn't clear.
