Jambo - you are entitled to your opinion and no one is seeking to force anyone to sign anything they don’t want to. Personally I do not see any good coming from shorting and the divisive activities surrounding it and therefore whilst challenging “the system” may be a waste of time, we will never find out unless we try. I detest corruption/manipulation/sleight of hand of any kind and personally believe it should be challenged rather than just turning a blind eye or accepting the status quo (because “it has always been done like this”). Also, you may be taking up your stance with the wrong person. Whilst I fully support the petition and have done and will do all I can to support it - I made it clear that I do not have the time to raise the petition so I did not. Finally, I do not seek a “fall out” between any GGPers over this as I believe we have seen far too much of this and too much negativity in recent times, but a petition is merely a call out for support for those who wish to and those that don’t is fair enough - it’s their choice.

Hi fellow 88ers - if like me you are fed up of how shorting shares operates in the UK then please have a read of the attached petition and sign it if you are happy to and perhaps even share it and post it on other Boards that you are a member of. If you prefer not, that’s fair enough too. Thanks

Sorry been out all day but delighted that Lebugue has taken the lead on this initiative. I have obviously signed the petition, shared it and will put it on the EUA and 88E Boards as well. If we all share this and place it on other Boards we might get some real traction - Thanks Lebugue!!!

Has anyone the appetite to rekindle a petition that tried to make shorting illegal in 2015 but failed. Apparently Germany made it illegal so why shouldn’t the UK? It needs someone who is passionate and has the time to get the petition off the ground and unfortunately I would not have enough time to do so but would support it. See attached the link to the previous petition but perhaps it could be marketed via various websites? Just a thought!!
