Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Hi Panama,
Its interesting , but this phenomena of searching for deep, really deep, under cover resources is quite new.
I think most companies have been looking at existing areas, shallow , along strike, and extensions of already known deposits. The easy stuff to raise money on and print a good story, with most running out of steam and money.
GGp have had the balls to go after elephants in a region that was totally under explored at depth.
Callum and GH ( and the exploration team) have done a remarkable job at identifying these targets . Hav is the first.
I think Shaun may have added another layer to story by letting the leash off, and grabbing all the ground that remotely looks like an elephant in the Paterson.
Thats what an exploration company does.
Cheers,

Hi DJ,
First in, best dressed. So long as your application ticks all the normal boxes, which i am sure this has, you will get the tenement .
Normal stuff applies , like native title etc, but as of today, there are no competing applications.

I have dug up some historic info on GGPs new application.
It covers a "distinct gravity anomaly...covering an area of 3km x 1km...3D modelling suggests the bulk of the source of the gravity anomaly lies between 800m and 1200m in depth.
This dense source has a strike extent of 1500m and a width of 750m (and thickness of ±400m).
In contrast modelling of the magnetic data showed that the source of the Tabletop1 magnetic
anomaly is the order of 1250 metres deep ..... Hence the
source of the Tabletop1 gravity anomaly is shallower than that of the magnetic
anomaly, yet directly overlies it. Therefore this dense source is a quality target for:
(i) Olympic Dam-type mineralisation, and/or possibly
(ii) Telfer-style mineralisation "
Great pick up, look forward to seeing a couple of holes punched into this baby. :)

Hi all,
Yeh, been around since Newmont days, heard a rumour....just a rumour, that we may be getting a new Exploration Manager.
Apparently everyone is making so much money, they are deciding to retire early :)

Hi All,
XRF is very good at detecting % amounts of minerals in the sample. Because gold is so valuable in very small amounts ie ppm, you are relying a lot on the accuracy of the reading and the position of the assay on the core. PPM is much smaller and therefore harder to predict as an accurate assay. None the less , it definitely gives the Geos an indication of what they have , and with visuals, a reason to be maybe excited, awaiting proper assays.
Cheers, Reddirt LTH
Hi,
Yeh, I know they"re not from Scally, just making an inference guys.
They all know up at Hav if the cores are any good though. The latest xrf"s are very accurate...but you still need independent lab results to confirm the grades of au and % of cu.
All good and keep smiling :)

Hi All,
Cant help but keep thinking about the pics GH put up the other day on the BRR interview, of some very mineralized core and a pic of an XRF, with the number 2 on it, from memory.
Is he trying to tell us something..ie second deposit (Scally), more core porn... I would not be surprised!!
He sounds very, very, bullish in the interview.... lets hope so.

Hi Paddy and all Greatlanders,
I have never seen a Mining Application be approved so quick ! Literally 2 days after the objection period. Amazing.
Also of note, is a new application for a haul road from Hav to Telfer. The area pegged averages about 200m wide, so me thinks maybe 2 lanes to suit triple or quad road trains.....will be interesting to see what they do.
Am thinking of flying up to Hedland and hiring a Jet Ranger to drop in and have a look at the Scally cores !! :)

Hi Hydro,
My take on it is they want to mine ASAP. A lot of work would have gone into the Application to present to the Mines Dept.
The percentage split in the Application can be altered as the JV progresses and targets are met. No biggy i would have thought.
Overall a great milestone for GGp and Ncm...probably a RNS later?
