Shaun, Short selling is a fairly simple concept: you borrow a stock, sell the stock, and then buy the stock back to return it to the lender. Short sellers place a bet that the stock they sell will drop in price.

You recall JB that SP closed @ 358.9 Monday. By Wednesday approx 11 a.m it was 361p so whatever transpired Tuesday didn't have a lasting effect. We have to get beyond the 17th Nov to see what these **** are up to.

I also topped up RMG as they fell. I cashed in all my Aviva stock thinking they would fall and used that cash for my top-up. Sold av. @ 481p and this morning they were around 412p

Unbelievable! you hold shares in RMG and your dividends go into your account or were they returned on principle? It wasn't actually a question as the answer is obvious. Your views may have weight when they are matched by your actions.

Thank goodness my highest purchase was 5.98 and not over 6.00. Would hate to be considered "DUMB" I probably am in the posters view because I went on to sell at 6.28 instead of the high around 6.32 Then another "DUMB" purchase at 3.71 when I am being told the SP would be 2.50 Amazes me that I have survived while so mentally challenged.
