TA is unimportant in all cases, especially so with small cap aim shares. Fundamentals are what drive share prices, ultimately.

Do you mean completely discharge them? Or just the act of their normal discharging regardless? I wasn't aware of that if so. I have taken to leaving my laptop/tablet etc on charge permanently unless i need to take them out of the house just as overcharge isn't a problem with today's technologies.

Good stuff to know as I had never looked into the care of batteries for your devices before I started reading about this stuff!

Li-ion batteries also get permanently damaged if they discharge below 20%. For large scale vrfb is the clear winner

Yeah, right about nothing. I recall him making multiple posts saying this company is a "dog". Wrong. Multiple posts saying people are ramping; wrong, multiple posts saying it'll drop when it's then gone up. We know the fundamentals are good and ultimately we'll be in the right when it really matters, and we're making money from our investments

Agreed. As someone who deals with FAs everyday as part of my work I can confirm they're all similar - putting clients in about 10-20 actively managed funds each with about 1% or more in management charges, because what they want to do is minimise complaints and compensation claims,. Therefore, they figure out a narrow attitude to risk, throw the client's portfolio in some matching funds, and then cream off their own 1-2% annual review/maintenance charge. The fact is most FAs simply do not know anything about share investing or analysing companies.

I had a very hard time deciding to invest in here or RDW. Both excellent homebuilders so I own both now. BWY is a very mature company with record completions each year still. Should be a lot of good to look forward to!

One of the reasons I don’t advise using stop losses for shares as opposed to forex. When i invest in a share i fully accept the risk, and when i think I’ve invested in a good company i try to invest big.

The last company who analysed the minerals were mistaken in their estimates so it was no longer credible. Gwmo have since gone with a new company to do their assay results

Forgot to mention cindercone in my last post, thank you for the reply. Nothing i have said thus far has been in bad faith but clearly there are people on this board who don’t want to hear anything negative mentioned at all about the company’s prospects. May the regular and well informed posters continue their open discussion

Thanks for the sensible reply Rat, i have been involved with about 5 other boards on this site as far as i remember and have never experienced such rudeness directed at me by idiots like i have on this board, including the recent one by ophidian.

Good question - who knows? I just use the technique to keep myself grounded and remind myself that there are still risks no matter how good the story looks. If upon evaluating you decide they aren't likely to come to fruition all the better. If I find which book I acquired it from I'll mention the author

@Sanchez, my hedge fund training had nothing to do with shares, I just traded forex. It was all focused on technicals. I am entirely self-taught about shares. I say "self" taught, but it's more like the books of Jim Slater, Peter Lynch, and the essays and analyses of Buffett's speeches and letters. I also read Phil Fischer's book and that one was great too. Would recommend to anyone interested in fundamentals

Excellent summary of the positive stuff! Much to look forward to! Now a good game I like to play with all ,my investments is to look at the downside risks. What could go wrong for BMN? E.g we can consider things that could be disastrous, even if they are unrealistic. What happens if vanadium prices plunge for some reason? What if the energy storage sector doesn't take off like the ESC wants? What if no one is interested in VRFBs?

By thinking of how things can go wrong, and how realistic they are, I find we can get even more confidence about our investments. If I end up up with a list of unrealistic things that I think won't possibly go wrong, then that should fill me with confidence. I do this for all my investments and think some might like the technique too

I like the fact there is now a committee dedicated to developing energy storage and bushveld is well positioned to become a big player, in addition to a big pri ary producer of V.
