Just FYI, simply doing a transfer itself won't count as a contribution, but I've never personally done a partial in-specie transfer. My own provider is Charles Stanley Direct and their website, phone app, and support people are excellent (secure messaging built right into the platform too, a bit like facebook messenger) so I like them a lot.

I have no clue what HKEX is so probably can't be much help there and don't want to start talking rubbish about things I know nothing of. They can probably help you directly with that question though. What I also know is CSD have no SIPP fee if you hold over 30,000 so it's a good place to consolidate for me.

You can only contribute to 1 ISA of each type per tax year, so if you're really sure you won't be further contributing to one of them then go ahead with a partial transfer.

Indeed. I have cut the loss myself but my holding here was only a few grand anyway.

BMN has almost doubled and I am 17 grand up in it currently. Check it out if you want a sure winner. Sorry for the cross-board post but I know there are people who will appreciate the tip.
