Equities in Europe traded higher in the premarket on Thursday ahead of numerous economic updates that are to be presented during the day. Several Bank of England (BoE) and European Central Bank's (ECB) officials, including the latter's President Christine Lagarde, will give their views on the current state of the output, heavily influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic. Traders will also keep an eye on the latest results in the Eurozone's trade balance.
Meanwhile, the United States Federal Reserve decided to leave interest rates near zero as the "ongoing public health crisis continues to weigh on economic activity, employment, and inflation, and poses considerable risks to the economic outlook."
The DAX rose by 0.83% at 8:01 am CET, while at the same time, the FTSE 100 went up by 0.44%, and the CAC 40 increased by 0.54%. The euro stood flat against the dollar to sell for $1.19829 at 8:02 am CET. At the same moment, the pound sterling rose by 0.22% to change hands for $1.39939.
