Shares in Europe traded mostly above the flatline in the premarket on Monday, as the traders monitored the developments on the COVID-19 front. While French, Russian, and British officials came out with somewhat optimistic forecasts regarding the course of the pandemic, Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel signaled that she could reach for the federal law in order to impose tighter COVID containment measures in the country.

The DAX advanced by 0.12% at 8:02 am CET, while the CAC 40 gained 0.16% at the same time. Meanwhile, in London, the FTSE 100 stood flat. The euro declined 0.17% versus the dollar, selling for 1.17740 at 8:04 am CET, while the pound decreased 0.19% compared to the greenback to go for 1.37658 at the same time.

Boohoo (BOO) has delivered on its promise to improve its supply chain after last year’s scandals but AJ Bell says it is still far from a perfect business.

Scandals over working conditions and pay at its suppliers left the online fashion retailer’s reputation in tatters last summer and it has had to up its environmental, social and governance (ESG) credentials to stamp out modern slavery practices.

‘Boohoo is by no means a perfect business following these actions,’ said AJ Bell investment director Russ Mould.

‘There is still the fundamental issue that its business model facilitates waste – low pricing points mean customers often buy a dress, wear it once, and then chuck it.’

Mould noted the company also faces the possibility of a US import ban relating to the labour issues in its supply chain.

‘Boohoo is having to make significant changes in the public eye and it could become a model example of how the world will no longer accept substandard business practices, forcing change for the better,’ he said.

The shares closed up 1.4%, or 4.7p, at 338p on Friday.

I think because most of our leaders have recently bought shares we have to reason that in all probability the direction of the stock price from here will be up for whatever reason.

Perhaps we’ll know this coming week as it carries the end of the month.

The Projects were recently awarded to the Company's 100% owned subsidiary Akh Gold Ltd as part of a competitive international bid round undertaken by the Egyptian Mineral Resource Authority ("EMRA").

Highlights:

Systematic remote sensing undertaken across four Projects totalling 1,565 km2 in Egypt
Major historical gold mining camps identified, including the Bakriyah mining district
More than 100 potential hard rock gold workings identified from satellite imagery
Several very extensive hard rock workings traced up to 375m in length
Field team being assembled to commence systematic exploration in Q2 2021

"The remote sensing programme was undertaken by the Altus team and has defined over 100 interpreted historical hard rock gold workings, including at least two major historical mining camps. One of these camps is at Bakriyah, where historical reports indicate that mining activities extended discontinuously across a significant area. Some of the interpreted hard rock gold workings are clearly visible in the satellite imagery, as arrays of pits and trenches, which can be up to 375m long.

I have always been of the opinion that the court case file had been lost down the back of the filling cabinet and was surprised when it got a mention in a cc about two years ago.

Siko could contribute greatly to the licenses info. He was very focused a few months back saying something like 14 companies had been successful in their bid. But the trail subsequently went cold.
I seem to remember that all had confirmed conformation except Barrick Gold Corporation and Centamin and have vague recollection that Barricks application was close to Sukri.
Cowhichen post a link to a company that had reported conformation of a license and a satellite scan revealing positive results showing gold.

One thing that I feel about half of the board buying shares is that there can’t be a partnership deal in the offing not in the short term and as I mentioned in previous posts Cowhichen believes there is some sort of news being announced before April.

The current price is 103.75 so it’s totally feasible that Martin Horgan paid 104.5

What I find as strange is that they reported the purchase on the day of the purchase, usually they don’t announce until after 24hrs has lapsed.

We’ve enough reassurance from Centamin directors now that’s for sure.

I’m surprised at the poor valuation, leaves cey vulnerable to the market.

Major European markets traded lower ahead of the session on Thursday on increased concerns the continent might be entering a third coronavirus wave. The number of daily reported cases in France and Germany is rising according to the data, prompting authorities to seek tightened measures in response.

Germany previously extended restriction measures for an additional three weeks until the second half of April, while France yesterday hinted the country would also reimpose restrictions. Meanwhile, the United Kingdom is considering toughening border rules for international arrivals in response to the accelerating outbreaks.

The DAX lost 0.19% at 7:19 am CET, while the FTSE 100 fell 0.14% at the same time. Both the euro and the pound stood slightly in the green against the dollar to trade for 1.18194 and 1.36881, respectively.
