after watching last nights performance in Parliament I'm thinking of asking my MP to motion to have Guy Faulkes deified! Ive never before been ashamed to be British. Where have we all gone wrong?

the fact that house building shares are slightly higher this am after last nights political shambles is very bullish. everything is priced in and even a hint of better news will send them up. fill your boots!!

Totally agree with your post which is why for many years I've exclusively invested in this sector. I think it will achieve growing profitability whatever the shambles of Brexit and will come to be regarded as a safe haven that justifies significantly higher rating with a per in the high teens

(1) I bet the sp doesn't fall the full 11.2p in first dealings xd (2) I bet there are a lot of dealers waiting to buy xd

so you've got a genuine 9.4% yield. Whats not to like? OK there is a lot of uncertainty about but it looks one hell of a good bet to me as a low tax payer

The fact that they are paying 11.2p infers that they might maintain the total if the conventional 1/3 2/3 ratio is applied as if they planned to cut the total div for the year savagely they would have made a start with the interim.They must know by now how much they will have to play with by now

my screen shows that they go xd on 19 sep.when do they announce what that div will be? This is important as a cut seems expected and with all my cash invested in the shares(rightly or wrongly) I would like to position myself more conservatively if I feel sufficiently scared at the time!

terrace I agree with everything you say but I also keep in mind that we have a chronic shortage of houses and they aint going to get built if builders can't make a profit out of it

hi terrace thanks for introducing me to this board its good to see all the castaways from tef again. I think I told you that I have fully reinvested my tef money in crest seduced by the 9% yield but hadn't taken sufficient account that they will likely cut the div to match the traditional 1 third eps of the peer group. I would welcome the views of yourself, sain,steph and the others as to which building shares look most attractive. ive already got plenty of cash in the bank to hedge against a really hard no deal Brexit but I have great faith in the ability of british entrepreneurs to come good however the current shambles turn out

thank you Trouts/if they now act like a 500sp co what div should they pay this year as surely this 500sp BOD would not like the stigma of cutting the div as this would reflect on their decision to pay 33p in the first place as they should have seen the probability of lower profits coming

could be reduced by less than that if as I suspect their profits guidance was conservative. im still bullish on both short and longer term

what is the likelihood that crst will cut the dividend? if slim then you could bet the ranch on the shares as with divs reinvested compound interest will double your money before you can say Hallelujah
