Back to the solar chat just bought 10 x 380 Watt panels complete with roof mounting brackets £2.7k

As always DYOR I did a fair bit on the batteries and the hybrid inverters as well as the panels before buying them. The batteries 2 x 10 Kw and inverters 2 x 5 Kw I bought directly from the manufacturer in China and shipped them over and got them through the customs process (with the aid of a freight forwarder). My idea was buy 2 sets I could sell the 2nd to cover my costs or more or less get mine free or greatly reduced price. But now the world has been plunged into darkness by Putin and the price of electricity has gone through the roof I'm installing both batteries.

Even without using solar I can charge the batteries during the night for 1/3 to 1/4 of the price of standard rate and power the whole house using the stored battery power cost of the above installed without solar £8K ( 20Kw stored power )

Octopus Go rate (todays) 7.50p p/kwh night charging 35.47p p/kwh day rate.

My 24 Kw solar batteries arrives on Monday. That's 24 kw more than Echo will have. In the way of batteries or panels.

I have to agree with you. Nobody believes a word which is very worrying as they say very little.

I'm still very much of the view that this is a Life Style company, It can be the only reason that the SP is this low. If the contract prices were a lot bigger then they would have to show where the increased monies had gone. This way the increases can be wiped out by the world increases in costs in general. As we can all see inflation is galloping at the moment with Argentina's currently at 55% There goes a fair chunk of the increase in the contract prices.

This SP hasn't bottomed yet.

A very Dark and Sad day of the history of the world is unfolding. Sanctions will take too long and the deed will have been done by the time any effects will be felt.
With the EU markets are now touching -5% Echo's SP will be sucked under like the rest as risky ventures are dumped. The idea of any good news will have been lost now. Sure the oil and gas prices look great for a producer but the reality is that the SP will tumble as investors look to solidify their money.

Right here right now those that are in trenches have now idea what a Ponzie scheme is.

Because this is a ponzie scheme. No need for them fake news money in more fake news money out, they still have their noses in the trough. Why now that the OnG prices have gone bonkers are Echo's productions staying the same or falling and they the go off on a curve ball and say they are shelling out money on a new toy. Maybe because they aren't productng what they say they are and have to come up with some idea to show no profit at the same time as dangle the carrot to get more investors? its how a Ponzie Scheme works

Sadly I see that Ukraine has been clobbered by a cyber attack this afternoon, which I fear is the 1st real signs of the invasion which will come from the north. Good to see the RAF has one of it's 135's in the air over Ukraine's northern border.

The oil price will be heading north big style in the next 48 hours if i'm right. If Echo's SP doesn't do the same then then nothing is going to move it upwards and I don't mean for a few days.

We will soon see what happens when a supplier holds back to get a higher price or their way. No matter what happens in the next few days , weeks and months there will be a greater ruse to move away from an energy source you don't control. But for now the EU and the world are going to feel the cold and Europe are going to see a massive hit on its industrial production as the energy crisis gets out of control.

Some will profit but many will pay a harsh cost.

We are heading back to the 70's and 80's

ABZ I'm sure the will produce more than I will for sure they are going to be spending a lot more than I and with longer days. But I'm already producing and with an additional 22.4Kw of storage on it's way I'm not going to be grid dependent as most with solar are.

As UTI says you have a fair argument about holding out for higher prices but is that just a cover for lower than expected or hoped production levels. Saying you have it in a hole in the ground is one thing saying you have it sitting in a big tank is ways better.

Time will tell MH being cleaver giving and shareholders value will only last so long.

All very good ABZ but Echo has bills to pay and workovers to do. Will MH think it's wise Only to have the solar panels switched on at the Suns highest?

Remember our history, we had an empire as did the Romans and the Japanese. We have our time and the world changes we loss our empires. As our time ebbs as does our influences. Russia is no different.
So what Putin is doing now is trying to slow their time.

Our reliance of fossil fuels is on the change but will take decades. So it and has been a weapon.

A bit like in Dune, he who controls the Spice controls. Russian has Gas n Oil.

We have lived thru oil @ $147. But my fear is a cyber war it can cripple a country without firing a shot.

The EU and the US will get clobbered by several cyber attacks in the next few days in retaliation for the up and coming santions. So $120 will be on the cards when that happens.
