I agree with you TopTuf to a point, but MMs have a legal responsibility to operate a fair , transparent and orderly market, and some of their tactics fall far short of that. No-one minds them making money; if they do their job well, we all benefit. It's when they manipulate by (for example) hiding trades, or flashing the ask down by several points temporarily to take out stop-losses before ramping the sp, that retail investors feel that they are not being treated fairly.
