The current HFSS restrictions are clearly not working so I welcome this, as well as in play gambling ads which are allowed to be played out in the daytimes. As much as people like to say it doesn't, advertising works.
Whilst I agree with you with regard to Liberty (zzzzz) where do you stand in terms of overal media consolidation? Bearing in mind how many mergers and acquisitions that have happened over the last past few years and that are currently in process?
why does always come to this? its pathetic; everytime is gets personal with name calling and abuse (on both sides) can't it just be a forum for like minded people to exchange views on a business in which we own some shares? @Bash, can't you just filter TomE or ignore him like most of the rest of us do? (No offence TomE) Please?
Hi Solley Crikey they were all so thick! Saying that ITV will be happy for 5m viewers over a BH weekend. The prizes are factored in within the production costs, sponsors only pay for the media the show attracts. Actually have zero input to the show itself
Hi Tommy, One of key differences between the UK and US markets is the free to air platfom we have which means I am always wary when people try to compare the two markets. Also, with respect, the 'in my household' argument is not a reflection of the viewing public. I dont watch Britains Got Talent, but that doesnt take away the fact it is the years biggest show. Totally agree about the ad market, however ITV is also a content creation business so not as reliant on the ad market as it was previously. Saying that, who know's what is going to happen over the next few months......
HI Tommy, again you are using Netflix as the party to blame for all pay TV's woes... whilst it has contributed, the switch is mainly down to skinny TV bundles, like SlingTV, DIRECTV Now or YouTube TV.
Hey Tommy Where are you getting your facts from? Nearly all research shows that Netflix customers are basically watching more television as a whole rather than diminishing overall TV viewing. More likely to be sky or virgin pay tv customers subscribing than free view customers. Take a look at thinkbox.tv for some actual facts about TV And also, believe it or not advertising is actually in rude health all things considered
Please, for the sake of everyone else who actuallly visits here to find out info and views on ITV, please stop this nonsense. @Tom do you not realise they are baiting you? each and every time you fall for it, hook line and sinker. @bashtard, whilst I agree with a lot of the points you raise, you are in fact bullying him. You know he's going to bite and you carry on. If you are, who you say are, you are an educated man, so why be so mean?
