With the end of the month just a week away I wonder if any of you would like to predict the SP this time next week. Matlot has kindly started the ball rolling with his 300p (minimum) prediction. I'll add my own, rather more downbeat, punt at 168p. Anyone else care to throw their hat in the ring? Remember this is just a bit of fun.

How many times have the shorters been about to lose their shirts here? I've been on this board for around eighteen months and, sadly, it has yet to happen despite frequent and numerous predictions of their imminent demise. So, just for old time sake I am going to say it......I wouldn't want to be out of this stock this weekend! No sirree.

It is an interesting list. How many relocated to an EU home and how many pulled out of Europe. I don't pretend to know the answer in all cases but a few examples: Dyson (moved to Singapore), Nissan (moved production back to Japan thanks to EU/Japan trade deal), Honda (closing out all European production for same reason - so would have happened with or without Brexit), Airbus (was never UK based but regestered in Holland and traded in France, Germany and Spain though it has shifted some of its production from the UK) etc suggest that pinning all of the moves on Brexit isn't quite fair though I am sure it will be the reason for some of them. As ever with the Brexit debate, we all see what we want to see. Or to put it another way, in the land of the blind the one-eyed man is king.

You're probably right Clemoc. I'm not much o a one for chasing short term movements so wasn't thinking about that. Either way it will be an interesting few weeks.

What an interesting week. My reading is that the buyout will need sweetening before it gets approval. As such I am sitting tight. I can't see much downside to doing so given that the options are sell now for around 33p, wait and deal goes through in which case 35p or deal gets improved in which case 40p+. I suppose the risk is deal falls through but frankly that seems pretty unlikely to say the least.

If I keep posting the same prediction long enough then it will definitely come true. A bit like fifty monkeys with typewriters bashing away at random will eventually produce the complete works of Shakespeare.

As a veteran (well, getting on for eighteen months anyway) of this board, I am getting that deja vu feeling. Once again mysterious events are aligning and those sage enough or with unspoken privileged information are assuring us that the game's afoot, that the promised land is just around the corner. If only we knew what they knew. At my count this is our fourth time round this particular dance. I wonder which will come first: metro share nirvana or the complete works of Shakespeare?
