RE: Superdrug focus on Gen Alpha28 Jun 2025 15:56
It’s difficult to read genuine posts on my feed at the moment because I’m inundated with green edged boxes!
Oleric - 13.03 - great summary. Like you I have never been enamoured with the idea of using gum for the acne product. I’m no expert so don’t know the barriers being faced to supply Axis PS in capsule form. Whatever, I’m sure this is the way to go - quicker to take a capsule than diluting a powder in water, we live in a busy world and people want the easy option. So if SBTX are working on capsule form as we’ve been lead to believe for PS, surely it is more cost effective to deliver both PS and Acne via this method, particularly since it has been acknowledged that the sealing of the gum is proving a difficult process.
I see you also mentioned Superdrug and margins - I’m sure it will be painful to an extent but five years ago, the company discarded a deal for Axis PS that would have cost margins but given us sales. Five years on the and Axis sales volume remains pitiful, profit whilst obviously good in terms of margins is very low in terms of contribution to the bottom line. I just get the feeling that if the lower margin deal had been taken five years ago, we would be almost out of the ‘tie in’ now with an established customer base, volume sales (hopefully),great customer retention and a much higher profile in the market to launch the acne product.
PS - after many years holding in SBTX, I hope the next few weeks bring news that will propel the share price forward and give long term holders the reward they are due. I’m hesitant to say that for me it’s the last chance saloon but just how much longer can we endure the promises which ever quite seem to come to fulfilment? If it answers your ‘question’, plumping up the company and getting it sold would do me providing it was at a reasonable price - it may just preserve my sanity! 😂
