By its very nature that's what share prices do, up and down, straight lining, up and down and so the cycle repeats, if it is a sound company with lots of potential and the company delivers on that potential then the company grows and that is reflected in the share price as investors large and small continue to invest. Simple logic nothing less nothing more, appease yourself all greatlanders we are that company.

As many know on here I'm a worrier by nature, but quite frankly, having assimilated all info provided by recognised experts, who have far greater experience and expertise than me....I am not worried....in fact quite the reverse !

As one who has in the past tended to become unnerved by the lack of progression lately in the SP leading to reaching for the worry beads I have been becalmed somewhat by certain people's advice on this board together with a few other emissaries namely;
Leo Tolstoy who in War &Peace wrote
' the two most powerful warriors are patience and time'
Benjamin Franklin wrote ' Time is noney'
Quite frankly, I believe George Harrison's
' a whole lot of previous time' is just as apt in these trying times. I shall seek solace within these fine quotes and hope that my fellow boarders are able to do the same.

Fellow boarders, let's concentrate on what we are all here for, the greater good of Greatland. Collectively when we are together as one we are a formidible force, a vastly knowledgeable collective. Quite frankly, a group that helps instill confidence and reassurance to those of us who are prone to worry and bedwetting when things stagnate from time to time.

Thank you for those who took the time to reply to my earlier missive.
Quite frankly what a rich and diverse board we are blessed with.
From the replies I can categorise into two groups.
Firstly, the members imparting a considered and meaningful reply constructive yet impartial.
The second group, who regard any holder who did not purchase shares in this fine company sub 2p and are held in disdain and are not part of their exclusive club or inner sanctum.
I shall take on board on what the first group advise and elucidate and formulate an exit strategy accordingly.
I shall completely dismiss the self righteous oafs who reply with unfunny, unhelpful one liners who form the second group.

Should I get the worry beads out of the (as someone earlier pithily remarked) bottom......drawer. Despite reading all the hype over the last few days about how the SP is going to reach the heady heights of between 25-30p pre results, we see our beloved share languishing. Quite frankly I am worried it may do post results .....market uncertainty can unravel even the most robust shares. I am fearful that tonight / tomorrow may not be as spectacular as some would hope. This is certainly not a deramp but as many of you know it is better to err on the side of caution

I am by definition, not a long term holder here, I am by definition a worrier, all long term holders are by definition , rampers.. ..which I fully understand, you, quite frankly, are trying to justify your investment. I understand that but it becomes tiresome somewhat when despite your ramping or misguided optimism, nothing happens when you expect it to in the timeframe you expected. That is why the derampers have such a field day on this board. Try, like many do, stick to the facts, not pure speculation and all will be well in the end.

I've been investing in funds for the past 15 years or so generally getting 7-11% returns which I've been pleased about. Then Persimmon cut their dividend promise just 1 week before payment date, in a fit of pique I sold the lot. I went looking for a company who would do me proud and after doing due diligence based on macro economics, a posh word for common sense and a realisation of what's happening in the world vis a vis tension uncertainty, QE, inflation deflation etc I came across this beauty via a poster on PSN LSE .....what a little beauty, quite frankly, what a revelation. It secures my twilight years and those of my offspring. . What a legacy!

This company is a long term investment that is why we are called LTH we are long term holders, we hold steadfast whilst others lose their nerve, it not their fault they are only human. We need to hold our resolve over the next 24 months, a long time I know, but there is no investment opportunity out there like GGP. Quite frankly, I used to worry, but no longer.

It has been well documented on this fine board that the forecasted Gold output stated in the MRE due in December could be between 7 -15 mOz. What I believe is just as important is the AISC forecasted figure as this is all the costs incurred in getting the gold out of the ground. Quite simply, the lower this figure the greater the gross profit.
The method of mining chosen by Newcrest will determine this figure, block caving seems to be the most plausible and cost effective given the mineralisation at Haverion. I expect that the Telfer mine given its age now has been fully amortised ie the capital charges against it have now been fulfilled.
However, the transportation costs from the 45km distance from Haverion to Telfer will have to be costed in, I'm not sure based on the ore extracted, whether road or a rail infrastructure would be most cost effective and indeed sustainable.
Anyways the AISC will take account of not only Gold but copper and other rare earth minerals that are found. If the AISC is substantially reduced and, by consequence
the gross profit becomes greater then it is a win win situation for both Newcrest and GGP and most importantly for us as shareholders.
As such, I believe Newcrest will pay a handsome FMV for the 5% up for grabs.
This will then I hope be the business model going forward, whereby GGP continue to use their expertise to explore and likewise for Newcrest to mine, with similar joint ventures being set up for ScallyWag and other prospects as mentioned in the GGP presentation.
