RE: Mankayan14 Aug 2017 13:15
Things change in the industry on a monthly basis so relying on company releases for your sole information on the industry is evidently unwise. Mankayan is non-core, but still has its value, many listed companies hold assets that are non core waiting for market improvement etc etc so its natural for them to impair assets with the passage of time - this in no way shape or form means these assets are worthless! To give some comparison Goldfields Far-Southeast project has been impaired (they paid several hundred million dollars for it and its around 3km from our Mankayan) but it doesnt mean it has no value going forward, its just a natural process. The company don't release statements to simply prop up the market, its only when we have substantial news, which will come for sure!
