Wow, surprised to see Paddyboy still here. Must have lost an arm and a leg by this point.

I remember him playing the same record when the share price was 120, saying shorts will soon be gone, and the rebound will happen soon, loading up at £1, then even more at 90p. Telling me I was mentally ill for suggesting this would drop to 20p because of the debt.

But he’s still in denial, chasing his losses.

“When it rises, you’ll all be gone” LMAO you’ve been preaching that for 3 years.

It’s amazing how those who called it right are the psychotic ones, while you sit on your depleted pension, having piled in on this, trying to average down and chase your losses.

Regardless of whether you think it’s cheap or not, the market doesn’t and it’s reaching now lows everyday.

You were saying the same thing when the SP was £1. Kidding yourself chasing your losses.

Paddyboy has been saying “just look away, and it will come good” since the share price was £1. Sometimes you have to look at the reality and cut your losses, instead of kidding yourself on.

I think expecting to hold stocks any longer than a few months is a very risky strategy- anything could happen. Just look at PSN for example, you’d be better off had you bought in 3 months ago than 10 years ago. Stocks aren’t long term investments. ETFs are, but not single stocks.

Thanks for the insightful post strictly. Problem is the market is incredible fickle and the share prices don’t ever really chime with EPS etc, so buying what may appear to be cheap based on valuation metrics, probably won’t be a good investment because the market may never value it based on these metrics.

That’s why I’m more focussed on share price charts and buy solid companies when they’re trading low based on market fear and sell when the turbulence has blown over.

I’m keeping my powder dry for now as I think this has further to fall yet. Whatever Rachel announces next week will be a change, and the market never respond well to change or uncertainty.

Yes, I’ve seen Paddy on here ramping- most recently in this thread actually saying how the combined businesses are worth £1.4b, seemingly unable to understand that the debt mountain just about wipes out the value of the assets. How much is goodwill worth if it’s not producing the returns?

I sounded the alarm here when the share price was £1.20 and was told by the likes of Paddyboy I was stupid, so yes I’ll come back and gloat.

Agreed. But I’m waiting for the budget to be over with before I invest. I never thought I’d see this trade in the 130’s so wouldn’t be surprised if it sees 120 in the coming week.

The only thing I’m concerned about is why have they sold 5 parcels of land, and does this mean the P/B ratio is still as attractive?

Paddy was relying on this share for his pension so I’d imagine he’s moved to Bulgaria or somewhere like that for the cheap cost of living.

Seems a difficult market to be in when your target audience is so focused on price, and online is often easier and cheaper. I think they need to incorporate Heron foods in all stores to drive footfall, otherwise it’ll end up going the same way as Woolworths and the like.

This change is long overdue. It will give buyers more confidence and prevent chains collapsing, and speed up transactions so it’s got to be good news for housebuilders.

Those who focus on the short term political noise will be the same ones who follow the short term hype and be buying when it recovers back up to £30. The trick is to do it the other way round.

Greggs is the largest food chain in the UK, operating in what is arguably the safest market to be in, yet the share price has halved for 2 reasons as I see it- 1. Inflation worries & 2. Slower than expected growth. This is short term market sentiment. At the end of the day, it’s still a growing business with 2 new distribution centres opening, and plans to have over 3000 shops. Inflation worries will blow over just like they did in 2022.

Great opportunity to buy in at a near 50% discount.
