However today with a more connected world, product can be obtained cheaper by countries in the west from countries in the East.

Tariffs make this much tougher than the end of the 1920's .

Trump is trying for a tariff regime that trys to pull companies back to the USA and at the same time introducing a low tax economy.

He is letting the debt and deficit get further out of control and will result in higher borrowing costs.

If this continues he will have over the dollar to the Chinese Yuan as the world reserve currency.
