addicknt, that is not the concept of proof, you can never prove that something has not happened, you can only prove things have happened, it is like prove to me that their is no God, you cannot, but the emphasis is too prove that their is one. so you can never prove that something has not taken place.

addicknt, you don't prove things haven't happened, you prove things have happened, that is the founding principle of reasoning.
As for BHP in talks with Solgold, sure why not, but they could have been in talks with Solgold for years, and we have had no announcements, agreed not evidence, but makes some sense.

Morning RICH3R, it's a fair question.
BHP have a stake in Solgold, and want to see a return on this, the major miners, have teams of people, who undertake building, maintenance and projects.
They are a business, and as a business, will be looking to increase their profits.
If they are not offered part of the build, or the build in a complete state, then we will hire someone else, or groups of specialists to construct the mine.
I said it was more likely, not that it would happen.
But what is unlikely is a bid, we see no sign of that.

Colonel, may I ask for some hard facts and evidence that BHP are going to bid, as far as I can see, nothing has changed. No one is consolidating, no one has bid for CGP, apart from Solgold. As far as I can see, all the evidence points to NM doing exactly what he said he would do, and take it to production. I read all your posts, and they I feel are quite balanced, but we have nothing but conspiracy theories, saying that BHP will bid for Solgold. What is more likely, is they will be hired by Solgold, and paid to build the mine, with the funding that Solgold will raise. All the best.

I am in full agreement rcgl2, we have had the conspiracy theories that this is delayed, because of a bid from BHP. Utter rubbish.
Don't understand why people ask for more information, and when they get it, they try and pretend it means something else.

Morning Schlemiel, you are quite right, Government wants this online as soon as possible, and this has been covered many times. No one can build this as quickly as Solgold. This is due to governance, and the processes that Solgold has developed.

Good morning addicknt, if you remember in one of our conversations on how would Nm defend against a hostile takeover. One of the things I said is that he could widen the book. I know you are aware of such matters. KB007's post yesterday shows roughly, who owns what. I said that Solgold shares could be packaged in investment and unit trusts, probably investment trusts, but also pensions. As this would be part of the defence strategy. There are just so many reasons why KB007's post is good news, and should be taken notice of, as we proceed to production, and as to why a buyout has become even less likely. It doesn't matter, if held independently by institutions, or institutions holding on a clients behalf. What matters is the institutions know what this is worth.

Agreed KB007, I am very happy with the amount of institutional investors, makes a bid almost impossible. As whoever wants to buy, will need them to agree to sell cheap. Can't see that happening.
As you say Franco Nevada deal, will progress this, and looks like we are on the way to achieving the full 2.7 billion dollars, to get this show on the road. All the best.

No one can be in any doubt that the government needs mining to be a success, not just because of the revenue, but because of all the associated industries that would follow a successful mining industry.

At current prices on VOD and BT, they represent good value.

Hi Bozi, I have always said if we get a bid, it will be hostile, I don't believe that any major wants to pay full price, and so no bid.
But if a full price hostile bid appears around the 2 pound mark, I will probably take it.
Don't worry about PI's taking a low offer, the main holders of Solgold shares, won't sell out for a low bid, and many PI's won't either. Only the ones that want to exit their positions, because of age, or they need the money.

I don't believe that BHP will launch a bid.
My reasoning:
Firstly some think, BHP and Solgold are talking now, however the evidence says they are not.
If BHP and Solgold were talking, then the recent appointments would not have been made.
They have been made to advance the road to production, and in order to do this, they need to advance their compliance.
So that leaves a hostile bid. Have mentioned so many times, good luck with that on such a diverse book. Some on here think that is not a problem. I personally don't think they have considered all the hurdles. The main one being convincing the main stakeholders to sell for less than full value. Why would they.
I agree these opportunities rarely come about, so I am staying invested, unless it is taken over. But I have a strong feeling that we will be here a few more years yet. All the best.
