Mathematics was never your strong point slug.
If someone is working and paying tax and national insurance and not claiming benefits, then it's not a zero sum gain.
You have to take into account the value of their work, so if they work for businesses that pay tax, like hospitality, care, deliveroo etc.
You don't just calculate their tax, but also that of the business that employs them, also you calculate tax of the customers that use that business, because without their labour the government wouldn't have these tax sources.
