A Big Step Forward 🚀 CPR Confirms the Scale at Southern Rukwa25 Jun 2025 07:24
Well, fellow investors, the long-awaited CPR has landed, and it delivers exactly what the rational bulls were hoping for: confirmation, clarity, and confidence. Sproule ERCE, one of the industry’s big names in resource auditing, has independently validated Helium One’s helium resource at Southern Rukwa, and it’s no small puff of gas. We’re talking 295.8 Bcf (2C) of Contingent Resources and a chunky 1.35 Tcf (3C), with a further 709.2 Bcf of unrisked Prospective Resources in the wings. Not bad for a company once labelled by doubters as a dreamer in the Tanzanian bush.
This CPR doesn’t just echo the company’s internal modelling, it aligns with the Feasibility Study, meaning what the team drilled, flowed, and modelled is now externally verified. That gives teeth to the upcoming commercial development, and should give the Tanzanian government, potential partners, and yes, the market, some real helium-laced oxygen.
Worth noting: this isn’t your granddad’s gas trap. The CPR confirms Southern Rukwa is an unconventional helium play, with gas stored in aquifers. Unusual? Yes. Unworkable?…. Not at all, the extended well test last year proved sustained flow at 5.5% helium. It’s quirky geology, but it works, and Sproule has signed off on that.
The development plan is smartly phased: start small with an Early Production System (EPS), then scale with a 15-well appraisal programme and a 46-well full-field rollout. Classic de-risking strategy, capital light at the front, scalability at the back. Like a mullet, but for project economics.
Sure, we don’t have the full Feasibility Study numbers yet, those are promised once the final Mining Licence paperwork is inked. But this CPR removes a big chunk of the geological doubt that’s weighed on sentiment. With the helium market supply-constrained, and Africa’s first CPR-confirmed helium resource now ready to advance, Helium One is no longer just a speculative punt, it’s shaping up to be a serious contender.
Sit tight, folks. The gas is real. The rocks are ready. And the company’s finally got the paperwork to match the potential.
